PROSCAN Cassette Player & Recorder with Microphone, Headphone Jack, Aux in, Black

Had this for 3 days now and seems to be ok. Sound is good and everything works. Wish it had a counter and wish volume knob was less sensitive, but those are small matters. Really pleased with the price - 20 bucks. Tape players have been obsolete 40 years and i didn't think anyone still made them, and if they did it would cost a fortune.

Record button dosent work neither dose the microphone it comes with ruined both my blank cassette tapes I wanted to make my first ever mixtape had to hold the button down to record and when it was done after 30 minutes of recording side A all that was there was grumbled gargled slow motion sounding audio and then when I tried to remind the magnetic tape all bunched up and same happened with the other blank tape get something better not worth it this one is though I’ll admit putting in a tape that has already music on it it played back sharp and clear and great but as a recorder it sucks so much ass! Is great as a tape player though

Works very well. Recording sounds good

I used this to record an audio production of mine onto a cassette tape using an aux cable, and it came out great! It recorded quite well onto the tape, and sounded good (not an audio expert, so take this with a grain of salt). The speaker on this is very cheap, sounds crunchy, and was lacking in the bass, so I would not recommend for listening to tapes unless you plan on using headphones. I read another review before buying this (not sure if it was on this item or another one) that said to use C batteries rather than plug the recorder in to get the best sound; this is the strategy I took and I had no problems. It did not eat my tape, either, but I suspect I got a little lucky and didn't receive a defective model; around 13% of the reviews say that it absolutely massacred their tape, so just be aware while shopping. All in all, great for novice audio recording on a budget. Just be wary that you have a chance of getting a defective model.

The volume was great

I've had precious little experience with the product, but it's enough for me to give it a rating. Let's get down to why this is three stars. It works. It records. It's not great, but it's functional enough to play around with. I haven't tried the included microphone because it feels like cheap crap that could be outshone by the built-in mic in my wired headphones. But my biggest issue is that my recorder seems to be possessed by the soul of the child in the sweat shop that built it because it won't stop screaming while in use. Trying to record? The item screams. Thankfully, this isn't picked up in the recording. Trying to play? Item screams. Rewinding? High-pitched screams that turn to odd funny screams when it gets to the end of the tape (it does not auto-stop rewinding). All in all, it's worth the less-than-$20 I paid for it. It would be nicer if it didn't have the souls of the damned screaming at me while I tried to use it, but I'll take what I can get.

Works great

Make sure when you are using fast forward or fast rewind you push the stop control before you push they play control or the tape could be damaged. Product works well. Excellent price.

The product is well built and functions perfectly. I tried with very old tapes and played properly . The only drawback is that it’s not Sylvania but it’s Proscan which should be mentioned clearly in the advertisement to avoid confusion and misunderstanding.
