Sturdy Pedals with large surface area
I have these pedals installed onto my Specialized Rockhopper. I have used them for about 125 miles of recreational riding on paved bike paths. These pedals replaced the stock Specialized pedals that were installed at the time of purchase of my bicycle. I wear a men's size 12 athletic shoe. I immediately noticed on the first ride after installation that these pedals match the toe box of large foot sizes very well. They felt proportional to the toe box of my shoe. Previous reviews also commented on the very large surface area of the pedal. For my purposes of recreational riding for fitness and leisure, I was less concerned with grip and adjustability of the hex traction pins. With that being said, I noticed no slippage of my foot during use and arguable less slippage compared to my stock pedals. Overall, this is a great composite pedal for the price. Arguably one of the best and highly rated composite pedals on the market for under 50 dollars. I have had no issues with performance after the first 100 miles and would use these pedals on a future bike without question.

Great Pedal For The Correct Riding Style
First a little background. I have two road bikes: one for club rides and one I use as a commuter. Until I purchased these Stamp pedals, both had Crank Brothers Candy series pedals. The commuter was being ridden short (for me) distances around the community I live in, and running casual errands when I did not want to be in "full kit", in regular sneakers. While the Candy pedals worked, I wanted something more comfortable for when not wearing "real" cycling shoes. These Stamp pedals are a bit of overkill for their intended usage, but I am SO GLAD I spent the extra money. Designed as an off road pedal for those that do not like to clip in, the pegs on the bottom of the pedal provide a very positive grip on the bottom of any chosen footwear. What's more, you can easily change foot position while riding, and dismounts / mounts are a breeze. What I really like is the super smooth feel of the pedals while riding. Quite a difference from an inexpensive set of no name pedals I had previously used. These rotate as easily as my Candy pedals, and that is what I really like about them; no noticeable friction drag. When you factor in that you can get a rebuild kit for these pedals, these become a nice, reasonably priced, longer term investment over a cheap pair of flats. Highly recommended for your commuter bike as a longer term upgrade, or for their intended use as an off road pedal, these are well worth considering if flat pedals fit into your riding style.

I am a believer - great pedals!
I had been hesitant to install resin/composite pedals on other bikes. Aluminum always gave me a better sense of safety and security. Actually, let me start by saying that I canceled the order through AMZ because shipping time appeared to take forever and the price is higher. After looking closely at the Crankbrothers Stamp 1 Pedal, I decided to go and install these on a youth size Trek. The Crankbrothers Stamp 1 are size specific, which is why I opted on this. Small for say shoe size 5-7 and Large for larger shoe sizes. The material outside is composite with metal pins, a solid feeling platform. The spindle is chromoly, insuring a safe and long lasting pedal. The pedal is comfortable and provides excellent traction. The pedal feels, looks better, and works better than any OEM pedal and other similar types of pedals. The Stamp 1 pedals are perfect for the youth size Trek. They are lighter than the MFG supplied pedals and so much better with a nice low profile. When I went to the local bike shop to obtain the proper tool, the service tech stated that the pedals are awesome! They are indeed nice!

Possibly Overkill for Hybrid Bikes
I wanted to upgrade my stock Wellgo pedals (first pic) with something larger for my big feet. After reviewing every large platform pedal on the market I ordered these "Stamp 1" composites in size L. The other contender was the OneUp Composite but several reviewers stated that riders could feel the spindle bulge thru their shoe so I opted for the Crank Bros. one. Here are my Pros and Cons- Pros: 1) Decent size foot bed but the actual dimensions are 110 x 110. If you used large calipers they probably measure 115mm due to the offset design but the foot bed is 110mm. 2) The semi-raised (convex) spindle has not been an issue for me and I ride with the ball of my foot on the spindle, not like real mountain bike riders over the arch. 3) The pedals spin freely, or close to it, right out of the box. Not tight at all, which is generally a sign of quality. I know very little about the entire spindle assembly but the exploded view looks impressive. Crank Bros. even sells a Refresh Kit for those who log many miles. 4) Since the traction pins are set at their highest setting, grip was very good while seated and like Super-Glue when out of the saddle. 5) There are 9 traction pins on each side. The asymmetrical layout places 3 at the front, 2 at the back, and 4 near the spindle. At first I thought this would be an issue since I'd always be looking down to get the right side of the pedal up. But it always has 3 pins forward no matter which side of the pedal you're on. 6) It feels very solid for a composite pedal. I have not experienced any bend, even toward the front or back, away from the spindle. 7) One other thing worth mentioning, and is not a pro or con, is that one pedal (left) says Stamp_1 on it and the other pedal (right) has the Crank Bros. logo on it. 8) Without being an expert, but having owned numerous bikes and pedals, the weight of these pedals seems good to me. Neither featherweight nor heavy. Just about right for the size I would say. Cons: 1) I did not need an instruction manual and none comes with the pedals. They tell you to go to the Crank Bros. website for details. The website suggests a torque setting for tightening but their photo shows a non-torque hex wrench. There is no wrench flat/spindle nut on the pedals so I'm not sure how easy these will be to take off later with just a hex wrench. 2) The distance between the pedal and the crank arm is minimal (see pic). This somewhat defeats the purpose of buying a larger pedal. I almost feel like my ankle bone will hit the crank arm. So I ride with 1/2" of pedal showing on the inside to compensate. 3) Since I ride a hybrid-type bike, I backed out some of the traction pins to about 67% height. However, it seems like there is no version of Loctite on the threads, so I feel like the pins may vibrate out at some point. This seems like an oversight. If anyone has experience in this area I would love to hear from you. 4) The pedals were shipped in a cheap gray plastic bag, no padding. I was fortunate to receive mine undamaged. Overall these are pretty solid pedals. If the spacing between the pedal and crank arm was a little wider, and I felt that the traction pins would stay in, I would have provided a 5 Star rating.

Light and grippy, all the essentials for a great price
Replaced my stock pedals with these and felt the difference soon as I started pedaling. I'm a US Men's size 10 and I got the large, very happy with the platform size. Lots of room but not too bulky, I'm glad I got the large instead of the small or the Chesters. So much lighter than my stock pedals. My feet felt planted in nicely which gave me more confidence to pedal harder and lift the rear wheel with more force. That was before I got a pair of mtb shoes, I was using basic plastic sole Adidas, now I paired these pedals with some Fiveten shoes and I feel locked in. I feel much more confident now getting my bike in the air without my feet flying off trying to lift the rear end up. Great pedals, awesome for the price

Durable, Reliable and Does the Job
I purchased my first set of bike pedals from a local store and was charged an exorbitant amount. However, I found the exact same product on Amazon and ordered them at a much lower price. These pedals are remarkably durable, providing excellent grip and preventing your feet from slipping. They are lightweight and can withstand wear and tear. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of good-quality pedals.

Great flat pedals at a great price
These are great pedals. The first ones I own actually. I read a whole lot of reviews and while most people love these, many don't because you can feel the center spindle bulge through your shoe. I must say that this is noticable when you use these for the first time, but I very quickly got used to it and now I kind of like it because I can feel when my feet are correctly situated on the pedals. I've put 209km on these pedals so far and they still look brand new and are working great. I would buy these again knowing what I know now for the price.
