I was looking for a large Moravian star to top our chimney and this worked out great. It was intended to be a hanging star, so I had to rig it to stand, but I managed to make it work. I also changed out the bulb with a smart bulb for color changing, twinkling effects and a simpler ‘schedule,’ though it required a bulb converter due to its’ odd sized bulb. I think my smart bulb was also brighter than the original bulb due to the color settings.While I like the simple fold-out assembly and less storage required considering its size, I’d prefer the more sturdy and more enclosed snap-together design of the smaller stars I have from Elf Logic.Overall, I’d call it a good investment. It did what I wanted it to and many neighbors enjoyed seeing it. I’ll use it again in future years.

The "timer" is simply something on the cord that turns off the light after it has been on for six hours. That may be great in some circumstances, but not if you want it to run from dusk to dawn or for 8 hours instead of six. I would rather use my own timer. This 30" star is extremely easy to assemble, much easier than a smaller 18 inch star I had that fell apart.The lightbulb that came with mine is flickered. I contacted the company and they immediately sent a replacement for everything. They also replaced my 18” star, when all I asked was for assembly instructions and whether they sold bulbs. Great customer service!

Bought to hang over our driveway in Massachusetts. Our complaint is that this is advertised as an 'outdoor' light. Rather it seems better as a 'damp location' light, not really designed to be outside in bad weather; better under an overhang. We nervously left it up for light rain and snow without problems. But we have taken it down for heavy rain and snow. So far we haven't had any issues with waterproofness, but it is too insubstantial for real wind and snow. Fortunately we hung it with a pulley that lets us take it down pretty easily.

I upgraded from a durable and still functional 21” Elf Logic Moravian Star. I was I got a lot of complements on the smaller one so thought upgrading to the larger star would be great. The first thing I noticed is that the larger star does not have the proper geometric shape like a Moravian star should have. This is probably done to make it easier to assemble and disassemble as it just fold open and closed, but the points of the star want to stay pinched flat. I hung it up by the cord, as there is no other hook for it to hang from. But since it doesn’t go through the tip of the star, the point of balance means the star hangs crooked! The top of the star is 15 degrees from plumb and twists around. Then, when trying to get the tips to not be pinched shut, the plastic broke and split wide open! Thoroughly unimpressed by this larger star but can’t return as I bought it at the end of last season. Will probably just end up in the trash.

This turned out perfect. we used it for a Christmas festival and in the outside Christmas tree!

I really wanne say that it looks really nice in the dark.But there are a few things that I dislike.So it gets delivered with an american custom made socket and a an American electrical Plug. The socket fits perfect in the base plate but is useless when you want to use it outside of the USA.The shape of the star is made from a foldable plastic which is attached to a base plate and each end.You have to fold the star over an 360° angle.. The thing is, in the base plate are little magnets that are supposed to close the star and keep the two base plates against each other. But this doesn't really work so well.The star can be used inside and outside. But it is def not IP67 it's more like IP31. Because of the folded shape there are spaces in the star were water and objects can enter easily.Also I wouldn't recommend to let the socket with the bulb wet get. Cause this might cause big problems.If you use the star outside then you have to either adjust it or hang it under a protective cover or like they show it on the website in a porch.. there is also nothing provided to use it as a tree topper. Is a design to be used as a hanger...To make it work as a tree topper and to make it safe I adjusted the star. So in my opinion it was a bit too expensive..

We purchased this for over our live Manger scene for Christmas, it looked great, just the right size.
