With a sensitive dual ionisation sensor, it is perfect for living areas like bedrooms. The alarm emits a loud 85dB sound, ensuring alerts are heard easily. Its low-profile design allows for easy installation on ceilings or walls, and it comes with a 9-volt alkaline battery included, backed by a 5-year guarantee. ## Description From the manufacturer Smoke Alarms Place fire alarms at least 3 metres (10ft) from kitchen/stove, and on the ceiling or high on a wall, no more than 25 cm (10in) from the top. Carbon Monoxide Alarms Carbon monoxide (CO) alarms can be placed anywhere, not just the ceiling or high on a wall. They should be replaced every 5 to 7 years. Heat Alarms Heat alarms are ideal for areas where smoke alarms aren’t suitable such as those with high humidity, dusty environments or areas where non-dangerous smoke is generated like kitchens, garages or lofts. Review: Compact smoke alarm - This was a replacement for a similar very old smoke alarm. This replacement fitted on to the original screws and was very easy to install. Review: Tidy design easy to fit - This is a compact, unobtrusive ionisation smoke detector that I found as easy to fit as any I have tried. BRK make a wide array of alarms and detectors but this is at their more entry level; nevertheless it is well built and passed my own smoke testing using a taper, provides a deafening tone and at the price you can’t go too wrong. Be aware that recent findings suggest that young children aren’t easily woken by such alarms (there are some on the market that play a recorded voice warning that is supposedly more effective) but otherwise this design of alarm is a tried and tested last way to ensure you are alerted in time. ## Features - Compact, general-purpose design incorporating the latest in smoke-sensing technology - Sensitive dual ionisation sensor is ideal for living areas such as bedrooms - Loud 85dB alarm can be heard easily - Compact, low-profile design powered by an included 9-volt alkaline battery - Installs easily on ceiling or wall; 5 year guarantee; Measures 111mm (D) x 37mm (H) ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07K7C96LL | | Alarm | Audible | | Brand | BRK | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 24 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00029054020031 | | Included Components | Smoke Alarm, 9V Battery, Instruction Manual | | Item Type Name | Smoke Alarm | | Manufacturer | Newell Brands | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | 5 year limited manufacturer warranty. | | Model Number | M300B | | Part Number | M300B | | Power source | Battery Powered | | Product Style | Compact | | Sensor Type | Ionization | | Sensor type | Ionization | | Style | Compact | | UPC | 029054020031 | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** BRK - **Style:** Compact - **Power source:** Battery Powered - **Alarm:** Audible - **Sensor type:** Ionization - **Global Trade Identification Number:** 00029054020031 - **Manufacturer:** Newell Brands - **UPC:** 029054020031 ## Images ![BRK M300 Ionisation Smoke Alarm, Battery Powered, Compact Design - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41bTk2UqExL.jpg) ![BRK M300 Ionisation Smoke Alarm, Battery Powered, Compact Design - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61X9-r7AMTL.jpg) ![BRK M300 Ionisation Smoke Alarm, Battery Powered, Compact Design - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61b+7xZi8YL.jpg) ![BRK M300 Ionisation Smoke Alarm, Battery Powered, Compact Design - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51rPqWtusKL.jpg) ![BRK M300 Ionisation Smoke Alarm, Battery Powered, Compact Design - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61ClAxULFjL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Does anyone know if this will fit the base of the Deta 1151? BRK make a wide array of alarms and detectors but this is at their more entry level; nevertheless it is well built and passed my own smoke testing using a taper, provides a deafening tone and at the price you can’t go too wrong. It comes with a battery. The sound is nice and loud. A couple of niggles: * The instructions say to check the smoke alarm by depressing the button for up to 20 seconds till you hear 3 beeps. However, this one only gives 2 beeps. I presume it still works, but it is slightly concerning. * I find it extremely hard to work out where to sight the smoke detector: at least 30cm from this, no more than 30cm from that, and so on and so on. With high ceilings that cannot be reached except by step ladder, I don't know where to place it. The instructions seem complex and they are a list of do's and don'ts. That's the same as other smoke alarms I've had, but it does still leave me stumped.
