Not much, but specs should be listed on fan instructions. I ended up not using this motor control because of the humming noise it caused the fan motor to make. Most people object to fan noise. Controllers that do not make noise are very expensive, nearly equal to the cost of a good fan. It would be ideal to use the speed control already in the fan if possible. I used this device to vary the speed. I had to be creative with the mounting as the device was made to be installed in a electrical wall switchbox. Controls the speed very well and it's easy to use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Silenced a noisy range hood. *by on Reviewed in the United States February 19, 2022* The replacement fan motor for my 30 year old Nutone range hood was slightly larger than the original and had far more capacity than needed. It was extremely loud on both high and low speeds. I left the original wiring intact and placed the KBWC-15K, 5amp controller between the house wiring and the two-speed range hood switch. I set the speed control to low and turned on the range hood switch to low. Then with a minor adjustment to the minimum speed screw I set the fans minimum rpm to a reasonable level. Now, I leave the range hood switch on low and run the fan with the Vari-speed since it has a built in on-off switch. Alternately, I can leave the Vari-speed in a medium-low position and just use the range hood switch as before, but it's actually nicer to use the Vari-speed knob. Easy to wire, works as advertised, no RF interference or humming.
