Unigear Tactical Hydration Pack Backpack 900D with 2.5L Bladder for Hiking, Biking, Running, Walking and Climbing

This product falls right in the sweet spot between cost and quality.. The pack, itself, is extremely durable and obvious military grade. It's weather resistant.. water trickles right off of it. After inspecting this, I am also confident this material will not rip due to the pattern used when producing the material. I feel like you could literally take this pack into battle with you. As you already know, there are other packs on the market for less money and more money, however, the cheaper packs will be more cheaply made.. not to mention having the appearance of something possibly made for kids. The more expensive packs couldn't possibly be of a better quality, but perhaps it's desired to show off a particular brand name in order for others to know you spent a lot. Personally, if it looks good and is made of good quality.. I don't need logos or branded tags to show off. Moving on to the water bladder. It does hold water without leaking.. I've filled it to test. It's durable.. I've dropped it onto hardwood from roughly 6'. I've applied pressure to try and catch any leaks.. there were none. I'm sure it could drop from much higher, but I'm not really out to bust this thing for the sake of bragging in a review. There are more expensive water bladders out there.. if you feel the need to walk around with a chem/bio resistant drink bag. Who knows.. there could be a third world war followed by nuclear winter where everything on the earth's surface becomes contaminated by lethal amounts radiation. You'll still have a couple liters of water to drink in the mean time. Me, personally.. I'm just taking this camping. I also plan on mixing an "adult beverage" to store in this, rather than water. I'm sure it's not too recommended, but I'm going to. If there is no further edits to this review.. it'll mean it worked out fine, and I'm sure it will as I have done this numerous times.. even with cheap bladders. If it does ruin the bladder, my review will remain 5 star, but an edit will be added to forewarn. I can't possibly be the only person to use this type of product in that manner. Anyhow.. my overall thoughts of this product is that you could most likely drop this from a helicopter, battle through a war with it on your back and have a nice mixed drink afterwards.. or during. Whatever floats your boat, I'm sure this product will handle it. Though the actual bladder may have its durable limitations, the pack would probably survive a few wrestling matches with a grizzly bear. You may not, but.. this pack probably would.

This is a great piece of kit! Being a martial arts instructor the hydration pack is great for in between classes where I can duck out into the back room, get a few gulps of water and jump right back into the fray. AND THEN this bag covers a bunch more of my more active parts of my day, I can keep a bunch of extra peripherals in here like band-aids, toiletries as I spend more nights of the week at friends' houses than my own, snack bars, electronics, you name it! It's no Bag Of Holding, but it's surprisingly useful if you make a habit of keeping it near you. It makes for a great way to keep smaller items of great use in one place, and if you are able to top it off frequently with clean water, you'll find yourself rarely going thirsty. The 2.5 liter water capacity is great for long trips by yourself or shorter excursions with a group as you can hold enough for your buddies should they need any and the easy to remove bitepiece allows to turn into a walking water tap. Paired with its storage capacity, its ideal for long active days where replenishes are few and far in between. The only downside I can see is its weight. While I personally don't mind wearing this bag fully stocked on my person and it is not a considerable bit of mass, it IS 2.5 liters; filled to capacity, that's more than the weight of a party-sized coke bottle on your back before factoring in anything you'd like to carry in its pockets. I carry out most of my endeavors on foot, but I can easily envision this bag being a boon to bike riders who also appreciate its tacti-cool aesthetic. If you don't mind the weight, or need the capacity this bag is a solid buy.

Durability- I have found the durability of this hydration pack to be its best characteristic. It is made of a strong denier polyester that holds up well for long periods of time such as on a mountain hike, where you would typically be carrying a heavy load for an extended period of time. The hydration pack itself is also durable and is easily able to make it through runs or bike rides over rough terrain with no damage whatsoever. One potential issue is the cap to the hydration nozzle can be torn off fairly easily while being used during more intense workouts. However, this issue is solved by simply decreasing the intensity of your workout before taking a drink from the nozzle, which is something that all people should practice regardless for various health reasons. Comfort- As a whole, I was satisfied with the comfort that the hydration bag provided. The adjustable straps make it easy for anyone to adjust the straps to fit their chest and they additionally come with a fair amount of padding to minimize friction and movement while working out or on a hike. However, due to the bag’s hardened exterior design and its focus on durability, the bag can cause minor discomfort or rashes while being used for an extended period of time. This makes the bag slightly more ideal for hiking as opposed to running or biking. Hiking generally requires thicker or additional layers of clothing which minimizes the effects of the pack’s exterior. Design- The pack’s design takes some inspiration from a pack you would typically find on a United States Military member due to its many straps and the overlapping flap. The military inspiration is made even more apparent by the two camo options one could purchase in addition to the black. While many females will still like the design of the backpack, it is definitely marketed more towards men. More specifically the backpack’s design will be the most appealing to the hardworking blue-collar type of person as a result of its rugged design. Love the bag. It’s very easy to drink from it and it fits quite a bit of water in it.

I do plenty of distance running and was looking for a pack with a low profile, solid hydro-capacity, and tight, form-fitting feel without the bouncing and swaying I’ve had from other hydro-packs. This backpack delivered on most of these details! The pockets are perfect for carrying the essentials like wallet, keys etc without tempting you to overload the bag with extra stuff. The result is a low-profile, stylish pack that clings tightly to the body. No issues for my build which can be described as average height and athletic build. The one knock is that the bladder and tubing are merely average and a little bit unorthodox in design. Filling the bladder is awkward and sliding it back into the back is a strange chore. Mine seems to leak slightly regardless of how diligently I seal it. After several uses and cleanings, the bladder also still has the lingering factory odor that other people have also commented on. Definitely passable but doesn’t reach an excellent standard. The result is a solid product which should satisfy the needs of most buyers.

The backpack has a nice design which is really quite comfortable while also having a decent amount of space, i would like if it was expandable. The bladder sucks, tastes like plastic no matter how you clean it, the spout requires you to suck so forcefully you get short of breath. No good for running or biking because the rubber and cap will fall off on there own like in the first activity. The cap on the hose hardly even connects anyway. Also there is no hangar for the bag in the pack, and unless you stuff the spout behind a strap it'll just flop all over the place, there's nowhere to put it
