The remaining chapters then go through every item that will cost us money. Each one is handled in a seperate chapter (I.E. there is a chapter on the photographer/videographer, a chapter on the music, a chapter on the venue, one on the clothes, etc). For each item the author gives us several useful ways to save money. These include not only cheaper ways to do what is conventionally done at weddings, but also unconventional yet creative ways to do the same thing for even less. The negotiating tips are worth their weight in gold. I particularly liked the advice regarding saving money on the DJ- I plan to put this to good use in my own upcoming wedding. In short, if you are planning a wedding and are not mega-wealthy, you need this book! It will help you to save money, yet still have the wedding of your dreams.

short and to the point. Good advice although some of it was common sense. Well worth the price if your trying to figure out where to start!

A Practical Guide to get you Started!
How to Plan a Wedding on a budget gives you the facts. The author talks about all the key issues in most weddings, and offers tips and tricks to handle each. I do think this book would hold more credibility if there was some sort of professional backing in it. Not the end of the world, but would help. If ur looking to get hitched anytime soon, this book is a good place to start planning

Needed a little more
Most of the things in this book, I had already done, I was hoping there was a checklist of all the things I should think about and also a how to. It was much less than what I expected.

How to plan a wedding
I wish my daughters had this book a few years ago. It is filled with great ideas about how to have a very nice and yet affordable wedding. There is very helpful material on subjects like agreeing on the budget, choosing photographs over video (if you have to choose), venues, and much more. This is a great little book on affordable wedding planning.
