Unfortunate Name, Totally Works!
I was skeptical that this would help as much as other people said it would on the reviews. I always thought that the angle of my legs sitting in the passenger seat and the vibration was what caused my legs to go numb and pain to go through my sciatica. After getting the Butt Buddy (What an unfortunate name) I realized that it was the stock passenger seat itself that was digging into me, causing the numbness and pain (and the vibration didn't help much either). We used to only be able to ride about 30 minutes with me complaining. The first time we got it we loaded up the saddlebags for an overnight camping trip and rode 130 miles one way without stopping! Here's the only things that I had to do for my own personal comfort. I'm quite petite and only weight 110lbs. So even though I was up a couple inches higher than normal and it didn't affect the driver, it worried me on the highway if we hit a bump, what if the Butt Buddy popped up and landed at an angle with me? To assure that wouldn't happen, we just used some 550 Paracord and kind of tied the sides down to my saddlebag brackets. You seriously never have to worry about it moving around while you're sitting on it. But as tiny as I am, I sometimes can completely come off the seat if the bump is big enough (like when the road switches from land to bridge). Worth the money, and so happy to finally get some quality miles in with m boyfriend on my bike.

Very well made and easy to transport, but it didn't help keep me pain free.
The seat worked well over the existing seat, but it did not work for me at all. I used this on a ride from Connecticut to Laconia, NH for bike week and I didn't end up using it on the ride home because it made my butt hurt even more than the regular motorcycle seat on my boyfriend's bike. I ended up using bicycle shorts I borrowed from my sister and those worked better than this seat. Amazon did take this back and refunded me my money, so it wasn't a loss. I had high hopes for this, but in the end it just didn't work for me.

This is a great product. The little woman and I took a 8 hour ride to the beach and back with this and there were no complaints on her behalf on the comfort before an hour on the back her butt would fall asleep. She said It never wiggled around or felt as if it was going to fall off at any point. So as far as the product It is a great option if you don't want to drop $300.00 on a new seat. Ok so we do love the seat but I only gave it 4 stars because we did have to change a few things to make it work on my bike. Its mainly because of the way my bike is designed. I have a 2014 Harley softail slim. normaly with the sissy bar with the pad her butt kind of sinks down in between them. Well with the butty buddy it raises her seat height about 2-3 inches so she cant sit back into her seat like she should and it felt like she was sliding forward into me the whole time and she felt like she had to hold herself back the whole time. So we removed the back pad on the sissy bar and everything was all good and the bar didn't hurt her back like I thought it would. The last little complaint she had after the 8 hour ride was that here feet hurt from the pegs. Because being that the pegs are fine with a normal seat when your put the butty buddy on over top the seat is raised so your legs have to extend more to reach more for the pegs. She is on the short side 5 foot so there isn't much extending left in her legs lol so she was on the balls of her feet the whole time. So we are going to get peg raisers and try again. All in all great product so don't base your decision off of my situation My bike is a very unique design compared to all the other Harley softails and may not be the same for you.

My butt's new BF...
My husband sent the butty buddy link to me as a joke much like the shake weight as I was complaining about the motorcycle ride. I couldn't last too long without taking a break cuz my butt and my back hurt. So, I went ahead and looked at all the forums and reviews I could find about this. It just so happens that I had some credit on Amazon and since we were planning some long rides in the future, we had 2 options - buy a new mustang seat and replace the stock one but will set us back a pretty penny...@ $400+ - the other option - buying the butty buddy! And so I did...and now my butt is sooooo HAPPY and has a new best friend!!! Wide seat area to accomodate both butt "cheeks" ;-)- Longer rides finally with no aches or pain. All 3 pieces of the seat easily snap and lock, extensions are easy to adjust with the included hex tool. Once assembled, just readjust the extensions to fit snug on the passenger pillion then tighten with the tool and off you go. I didn't even have to use the straps to keep it in place as the center piece had a non-slip backing. It held it in place with my weight with NO problems! And - I thought it'll look odd BUT oddly enough, you can't even tell. In either case, it's so easy to just put it away, it's not permanent...it's portable and I really like that idea and my hubby too since he wasn't too fond of the heart logo on the seat And one last thing, no, the extensions didn't tear up the leather that it was on. Just a little dent that is barely visible. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - cheap fix with long lasting effects. Ride = 2012 Honda Shadow Phantom

Nominal increase in comfort was not worth the money or nervousness about sliding off.
My husband has a Harley with a less than adequate place for me to ride. We were getting ready for a couple of long trips (2.5 hours for one and then the next was going to be 4.5 hours), and I was really worried about my comfort. I decided to try this, but I was very uncomfortable on it. It did not feel secure enough to me, and the difference in comfort between not having it and having it was not substantial enough to warrant the cost or nervousness that I felt with it. I really wanted to like the Butty Buddy, but it didn't do the trick for me. I ended up using a high end $100 gel cushion strapped on with some bungee cords (a friend who rides to Sturgess every year recommended a pillow, and we happened to have the gel cushion around and thought it might be even better). It worked great, and I think I was more comfortable on the 4.5 hour ride than my husband was on his main seat!
