Review: Great way to make your Google Mini Portable - I love this product since it makes it easy to bring your Google Mini speaker outside within wifi range. I'm not sure why people are saying the battery isn't great or only lasts two hours, mine will last around 6-7 hours on 60-70% volume. If you have the 1st generation Google Mini speaker this has been the best way to make it portable. Other noted that the speaker moved while in this battery base, but I didn't notice anything that would have the speaker falling out. Make sure you charge your speaker fuller before using it. I hope thst this review is helpful. Also, they are only $11 right now I might pick up two of them lol. Review: Love it! - Actually works better than I expected. I get a full days use of it outdoors. We have several units plugged in around the house and garage, but needed something to carry around to outdoor projects so that we did not blare the neighbors out with loud music. With this we can place it anywhere and move it around outdoors without turning the volume up high near an outlet. One thing you have to get used to...it has to be plugged in (charging) to "turn it on" for the first time of the day. If you simply put your mini into it and turn it on, then it does not come on... but plug it up and watch for the charging lights, THEN you turn it on and disconnect the 110 power and it will play all day (or set on standby when not using). Have never used up a complete charge over a day yet.

Good value but battery does not last long.
It works well enough for what I use it for - which to avoid a toddler meltdown while moving my kid from 1 room to another. As long as I remember to put it back on the charging cord soon, there are no problems. The battery is too small for any extended use though. Probably 8-9 hours on stand by. I have noticed that muting the microphone does extend this. Even when it's drained, there's no delay in the Home Mini turning on after you plug it back in. So the battery life is just a minor inconvenience. Like the fact that this uses micro USB.

Great concept, but... just not for me
Ultimately I've found it simpler to plug the cable into a battery backup in places where the power is intermittent. I've found a longer cable was more useful for me. Having said all that, the unit is well built. I'd recommend it for anyone needing to, say, carry their Google Mini speaker out into the yard or place it on the picnic table for an afternoon.

Easy, inexpensive, portable music
I recently purchased a couple of these battery bases for my (1st generation) Google Home Mini speakers. At $8, this is a steal. One minor complaint i have is that there does not seem to be a way to turn the speaker completely off while the battery base is charging, but that's a minor issue, in my opinion. I love the design of it. I bought two so that I can pair them and have portable stereo when we are in the hot tub.

It worked like a charm for two years
I got this base to be able to take my smart speaker out to the deck and the pation on summer nights and it worked great. The battery lasted for about 4 hours so more than enough time to enjoy a nice outside dinner in the summer. However, after a little bit over a year and half, the battery doesn't hold charge anymore. as soon as I unplugged from the charge the speaker dies. That is very disappointing.

Why is this product not more strongly advertised??
I have a google set up in my house and l have been looking for a speaker to use outdoors on the deck or when I'm working in the garage. I love this thing! It sits quietly in its holder/charger base on my counter for regular use and when I need to go out I just unplug it! So far its battery life has been great. if you have a google mini I strongly suggest getting this, you won't regret it!

So easyโฆ
This little guy is great, does exactly what it is supposed to do. The battery lasts about 6 hours or so. Works with first gen Google mini. I bring a spare Google speaker from inside our house and plug into the JOT, and put that in my backyard shed. Plays Spotify when company is here, etc. w/out disconnecting like Bluetooth devices if I move out of range with my phone.

Possibly the greatest thing I've ever bought for less than ยฃ10
I was not expecting much from the cheapest google mini battery on amazon, but this thing is great. On normal volume, it happily seems to play music for 5-6 hours at least, it has a very premium feel and fits the mini excellently.
