Makes perfect poached eggs!
At last a real old fashioned poacher that works just like my Mom used to use. I tried the micro-wave plastic based poachers and all they did was explode the eggs when the small amount of water super heated. This original aluminum light weight pan comes with a glass see through lid way is controlled, simple and easy and 2 coated poaching cups. It makes perfect poached eggs. ! add a squirt of olive oil to help them flop on to my plate. I have the 2 egg poacher. The pan has a water line. Fill, boil and cook. Really like this one! (Trashed the exploding plastic one!). Came in a nice cardboard box.

Nice looking works well sturdy
Nicer then I thought it would be. a bit difficult to take the egg cup out when is hot but eggs cook well and quickly. Perfect at 3 minutes nice runny yolk and white all cooked.

It works, but...
I ordered the two-egg poacher and received it within days. Washed it up and sat it aside for a few days before using. I read the enclosed instructionsโsounded pretty easy: - Fill the water level to the clearly marked line on the pan. - Bring the water to a boil. - Spray the cups with oil. - Drop eggs into the cups. - Place the cups into the two holes in the top plate. - Sit the lid on top. - Cook for 2~4 minutes. I set the egg-timer app on my phone for four minutes and waited. The egg whites touching the sides of the cup seemed to solidify pretty quickly, but I waited the full four minutes before taking the lid off. I touched the top of the egg with my spatula. The edges were cooked, but the center above the yoke was still translucent (read: raw). I reset my timer for two more minutes, reinstalled the lid and waited. Once the timer went off I took off the lid and started to lift the first cup by the round metal handle. Donโt do that! The instructions say it will be hotโit is. Using a folded paper towel, I lifted the cup out of the pan and turned it over onto a piece of toast. I had my spatula ready, but didnโt need it. The egg slipped easily out of the cup. How was it? Quite good, actually. The whites were solid, like they should be, and the yokes were hot and runny (as they should be). So, whatโs my impression of this egg poacher? It does what it says it will do, but not exactly as they say it would do it. One possible reason is that the glass lid doesnโt actually fit the pan once the flat metal plate is put into place. Itโs pretty obvious that the pan and lid were produced as a set and the lid fits as you would expect. However, once the flat plate is sat into the rim of the pan, the lip of the lid had no place to go. The loose lid may be one of the reasons that eggs are still raw after four minutes. The steam created by the boiling water leaks out instead of cooking the top portion of the egg. The round metal clips that go around the cups for lifting are actually a bit too tall to allow the lid to sit evenly on the top of the pan/flat plate. This too may lead to loss of steam. Overall impression? The quality seems consistent with what you would expect for low-cost pots & pans. For eighteen bucks (prime price) and free shipping, itโs a good deal. Functionally, it is fine, even with the noted quirks. You just have to adjust the cook-times to produce the eggs the way you want. Bottom line: Yes, I would buy it again and recommend it to friends.

Great little pan for poached eggs.
Great pan. Stainless parts with Teflon coated egg cups. (I still coat them with butter or similar) Easy to clean. Clear cover lets you see cooking progress. The cover has a small vent hole so it doesn't get steamed up Water depth is marked on the pan for best depth.

Way better than expected!
What I got is a heavy duty stainless steel saucepan with the insert for poached eggs. Two utensils for the price of one!

Well Constructed
Stainless Steel Poacher Nothing flimsy about this pan. Heavy weight lid. Sturdy Construction. Each component fits together seamlessly. Small size makes it easy to store. The 2-Egg Pan is a nice size for small family. I coat the bottom of the egg cups lightly with Crisco Vegetable Oil so they slide out easily. Packed well in an EXCELSTEEL box that includes a Use & Care Guide. Gives the impression that they take their job seriously. **Just like U.S.A. manufacturers did years ago** Cook time is generally 4-6 minutes at Medium Heat Setting. "**Jumbo Eggs take longer ( Soft: 6 mins, Medium: 8 mins, Firm: 10 mins)**" This is where the clear lid comes in handy, it allows you to view the egg poach process. Seems like a healthy way to eat eggs ๐ I hand wash the pan as dishwasher heat can be a little harsh on the finish.

Best Poached Egg Ever!
I received this pan a day earlier than scheduled and used it first thing the next morning. This poacher is the best answer to a perfectly cooked egg that looks pretty too. No more egg tails and mess when trying to poach an egg in water the old fashioned way. In the past I have tried all kinds of tips, including adding a little vinegar to the water to keep the egg intact. However, still messy and the egg does not form in a perfect circle if thatโs what youโre looking for. No waist and no loss of the egg with this poacher. The pan itself is designed very nicely. The gauge of the steel is sturdy and well-made. With a little bit of spray inside of the non-stick cup, the egg just slips right out. No hassle, no mess and no pain. Love this little pan and may get one that has more cups in the future. Yes, be careful when handling the cups as they naturally get hot. But this is part of the process of cooking, and one should always use caution when working with a hot pan. I highly recommend it.

Not a high quality item but it gets the job done
This is a lightweight pan with an insert for two egg cups and a glass lid with a stainless steel knob. The egg cups are non-stick, which is nice. No butter or oil is needed. The handles are small, though. The instructions show a person picking them up with bare fingers but of course you'd burn yourself if you did that after poaching the eggs. The written instructions tell you to wear heat resistant gloves. (Do as they say, not as they show.) I don't have heat resistant gloves and need to use a potholder. The tiny handles make for a clumsy process with a potholder. I've found that by twisting the egg cups so that the handles protrude over the edge of the pan, I can get a decent grip with a potholder. You'll need a potholder to remove the lid, too, as the metal knob gets hot. The lid tends to stick to the metal insert so that when the eggs are done and I lift the lid, the insert comes along with it, trapping the eggs inside. Some banging and shaking is often required to get the insert to come loose. So it's not the most convenient thing to use, but it does get the job done.
