MCC Compound

MOLYSLIP MWF cutting oil is made of dewaxed heavy paraffinic petroleum distillate mixed with a significant amount (5%) of extreme pressure additives Molybdenum trioxide and ZDDP, and with a tiny bit of pine oil added for a kink. It is not an emulsion, so there is no water, but there is something (25%) which calls for alcohol-resistant firefighting foam while making the mix non-flammable - this component, possibly polyalkylene glycol, might be providing cooling in addition to wet lubrication with oil, dry lubrication with moly film, and extreme pressure properties with ZDDP and moly. The colour is green, translucent, thick oily fluid, convenient to work with, does not smoke much, the drill cuts very well with it. It feels that the drill bits come out somewhat cooler. I can't comment yet on extending drill bit life, but it should be prolonged. Somewhere I saw an article reporting on moly lubricants extending life of diamond tools applied to steel. Usually, there is a graphitisation effect, where diamond converts to graphite when working on iron/steel. The theory of the protective effect is that moly forms a thin layer on steel, and this layer reduces graphitisation, so the diamond lives 40% longer. So, I think, one of applications for this oil is to use it in diamond-based sharpeners like Drill Doctor, its Parkside clone and others.

GREAT FOR LOTS OF CUTTING TASKS WORKS WELL

I bought this mainly for tapping holes, but found it works wonders anywhere a tooth is cutting metal. I use a chop saw with a carbide tipped blade for cutting aluminium bar and tube prior to machining, this kept getting clogged teeth until I started putting a couple of drops of this on the cut line before cutting. That's all it takes to give a smooth quiet cut with no clogging. Fantastic stuff, makes manual hacksawing way easier too.

Hi. High this Moly slip cutting oil seams a little expensive BUT definitely helps the drill bit cut through the metal & keeps the drill cool & prolongs the drill bits, Nice dispensing bottle.

I've never used cutting oil when drilling or cutting metal. I had to drill out some screw heads and, having invested in a decent set of cobalt drills, thought I'd do things properly. Applied a drop of the Moly to the screw head and drilling results were brilliant. I even went back to some old HSS bits and tried those - very impressive. Eased and improved cutting and prevented drill bit overheating. Well worth the investment.

Amazon to the rescue again, when local suppliers surprising don't stock this. Great item, great price, great delivery.

Does the job

Works well. I couldn't get the old rocol product. But this works perfectly. If you drill a lot of steel, or hole saw. Get a bottle of this, your tools will thank you for it!
