It is clearly a guitar made for a petite player or a tween which is perfect for my daughter however it also accommodates my average adult reach and fingers with little trouble so it is easy for me to help her with lessons. It is is capable of about the same volume as, if not a little more than, my standard sized Fender which was a little unexpected for me :). The tone is actually a lot clearer and sweater than I expected for a $100 guitar! The construction is about what I expected but I am positive that with typical 8-11 year old treatment and use it will last through the first few years of lessons and practice and at least until my daughter is ready to move up to a larger, and more costly, guitar. Over all I am very pleased with my purchase.
