Review: My Absolute Daily Classroom Staple—They Write Like a Dream, but They Will Bleed Through Thin Paper! - As a teacher, I am incredibly picky about my writing utensils, and these 0.7mm Medium Point Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip Pens are my absolute holy grail. I use them daily in my classroom for everything from grading papers and lesson planning to sketching out charts on the whiteboard easel. They deliver a bold, beautiful line that makes writing genuinely enjoyable. The Good: Flawless, Smooth Writing and a Total Teacher Essential There is a reason Paper Mate Flairs have a legendary status in the education world. The medium felt tip glides across paper effortlessly without any skipping, scratching, or dragging. The black ink is incredibly rich, dark, and pigment-heavy, which makes my comments and grades stand out perfectly on student worksheets. The design is also top-tier. The point doesn’t easily mush down under heavy pressure, which is a massive plus when you're racing through a mountain of grading. They dry almost instantly on standard paper, meaning no annoying ink smudges on my hand or across the pages as I write. Having a 12-count box of just black pens is incredibly convenient, ensuring I always have a fresh one ready to go in my desk drawer. Something to Keep in Mind: They Will Leak Through Cheap Paper The only major caveat—and something to be aware of if you work with a lot of standard school supplies—is that the ink is incredibly juicy, which means it will leak and bleed through thin paper. If you are writing on cheap notebook paper, thin copy paper, or standard student worksheets, you are definitely going to see the ink ghosting through heavily to the backside of the page. It’s not a design flaw—it's just the nature of a high-quality felt tip pen—but it's definitely something to keep in mind if you or your students plan on writing on both sides of a single sheet of paper. Final Verdict Even with the inevitable bleed-through on thinner paper, these are still hands-down the best daily pens for any classroom. They write beautifully, last a long time, and look incredibly professional. If you want a smooth, bold writing experience that elevates your daily teacher routine, this 12-count pack is worth every single penny!
Review: The Best Pens - Better in Black - I LOVE THESE PENS. I love a thick/bold look, but need something that can be a regular pen. I didn't know they sold in black. When I found the box of only black - I had to buy. Some are smoother than others, but once you have used them a little bit, they become more enjoyable for my liking. The color is great and you can see through the other side of the paper but not bleed through like a sharpie. I have been using a lot and the ink lasts longer than a regular gel ink pen for me. I love these pens!
