THIS IS MY SECOND PAIR AND I LOVE THEM!!, IT DOESN'T STINK LIKE THE CHEAP ONES.I USED TO BUY GLOVES AT THE GYM, AND THEY STARED STINKING IN 4 MONTHS, SPEND 80 DLLS EVERY 4 MONTHS, NOT ANYMORE, I TAKE CARE OF MY CLETO REYES GLOVES VERY MUCH.THEY'RE TIGHT WHEN THEY ARE NEW, I STRETCHED THEM A LOT, EVERYDAY UNTIL THEY BREAK.MY FIRST PAIR WAS WITH EXTRA PADDING, BUT THIS TIME I BOUGHT WITH REGULAR PADDING.BEST GLOVES THAT I HAD FOR MY KICKBOXING CLASSES, NO REGRETS!, NEVER!. :)

Amazing blackberry shade of purple...so gorgeous in person! These were my first gloves and the brand was encouraged by my trainer. I have not been disappointed!

These gloves are hands down the best Mexican made boxing gloves ive ever come across. The padding is nice and stiff out the box so much so that when you put your hand in you are forced to bend your wrist about 30° in order to make a fist. Because of that it wasn't as comfortable as other gloves have been but they still need time to break in and form around your fist. The quality is impeccable right down to the double stitching, the velcro strap, the softer pillow like padding that surrounds the entire wrist, the cloth Cleto Reyes patch stitched onto the velcro strap, the inside lining, and of course the 100% genuine cow leather is A++. I love how the thumb isnt a separate piece of leather like you will see on most gloves, but instead its just one big piece eliminating the need for the stitching that normally separates the thumb from the back of the glove. So because of that the durability only increases. The leather did have a rather odd smell right out the box but is slowly fading away and now is starting to smell like normal leather. The color isnt nearly as dark or metallic as the pic makes it seem although it is a very good looking purple just not very metallic and a couple shades lighter. As i said before the padding in the knuckle area is nice and stiff and because the gloves forces your wrist to bend about 30°, whenever you punch the heavy bad the blunt of the impact lands directly on all 4 knuckles flush and im my opinion only helps you punch properly and more consistently. Absolutely wear wraps due to the stiff padding and be aware that these gloves are punchers gloves thru and thru! You will feel the impact on your fists and if you have hand injuries i would say maybe try to find a glove with more padding something like the Everlast Protex3 16oz since they have the C4 foam technology and they are very protective, I myself also have a pair of them and they are fantastic. Back to these Reyes gloves, i wouldn't advise sparring in these unless you really dont like your sparring partner? just dont be surprised when they wont sparr you again afterwards. The most satisfying thing about these gloves is the super loud crack you hear when hitting the heavy bag....literally sounds like a bull whip if u hit the bag correctly. You will turn heads in the gym thats for sure, well thats only if the gyms ever open back up from this damn Covid-19 bullshit. Anyways gloves are amazing damn near perfect in my opinion and i highly recommend if you are indeed searching for a Mexican style punchers glove. worth the $$$
