Price was reasonable, installed and tested the fax without issue.

Works great. Great value.
Easy set up. Great value. I have two of these. An older model, and this one. They both work great.

Worked as advertised
I bought adapter to replace my all in one fax-printer-scanner which had quit working on me. Once my scanner stopped, I couldn't print or send/receive faxes. Ordered this from Amazon and I'm glad I did. It works right out of the box if you're on Windows 10, 1903. The driver that MS installs is a little old, but if you visit the product's website, you can download the Windows 10 32/64 driver for it. It's a little newer than the 2008 driver. I used the fax software that comes with Windows 10 OS and it worked as expected. I sent a test fax to HP and it returned it to me so I could test the receive part of the device. The only thing I have to figure out is how to get the computer sound to work to I know the device is dialing or connecting. Don't quite know if you can do that until I do a little more research. The lights do work well, and the software does offer a little help in figuring out if your fax has connected with the distant end, but it would be nice to have some sound. In any case, it is still worth it. You can save money by getting the internal card for your computer, but if you use a laptop, this gives you more flexibility. You can go from a desktop to laptop which is something you can't do with an PCI-e card.Update: Reducing my rating from 5 to 2 stars. The two stars because those few times it worked, it was pretty good. The only other disadvantage was that didn't have a speaker so you could know if it was connecting to a fax or not. 11/26/2021 Sad to report that my USB fax/modem no longer works. I had only used it a few times and now I can't get Windows 10 Pro (21H1) Build 19043.1348 to see it. I strongly believe it's the fax/modem itself, because it won't power up so windows can recognize/see it. When I plug it in, it gets very hot. It shouldn't generate much if any heat. Guess it's back to the drawing board. I wish companies would get away from fax machines all-together, but I doubt anything will change. Only fax services are becoming pretty expensive as well.

Worked for winXP and Linear entry system
I was surprised to see this worked with Windows XP after downloading and installing the drivers from the zoom website. The built in modem on this old laptop wouldn’t work over a voip line but this zoom USB modem worked. I tried the zoom USB modem on windows 10, but it would not work for me yet. It connected to the remote machine but would not pass the data. I use it to dial into Linear AE-500 entry systems.

Super easy to work with!
Yep, who needs a modem these days right? Well I use it for faxing out and in. My old one a cheap one on Amazon started failing on and off at about the 9th month mark. I ordered this one an the old one started working just fine for 6 more months. Finally I had to rebuild my rig and had to fax something. NO MODEM DETECTED. tried re-seating the USB modem, it'd show up then poof be gone! So I finally broke out this modem, hooked it up and BAM the fax started going! Auto added itself and the fax auto added it! I was impressed! Windows 11 build. Sent a few more faxes and got a few in over my VOIP line! Hope it lasts!

Good modem, but it is just a rebranded Conexant
I purchased the Zoom for testing with some custom software. Based on the $45 USD proce I thought I was getting into a unique chip design. My software worked well with the modem, but that's because the software already had Conexant CX9001 support. This modem is just a rebranded Conexant. At $45 USD this modem is a bit pricey, given you can buy the about the same modem for $10 to $20 at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008RZTJC0 .

Who buys a modem in 2020?
People who want to get their Dreamcast back online, that's who. I picked this up to use with my DreamPi to play some Quake 3 online. I did have to buy a voltage inducer from someone on Etsy. But if you're looking at modems these days, this is probably one of the reasons. To simplify everything - This one IS supported by DreamPi. You WILL need a voltage inducer. You can either make one, or buy one. But it works like a champ for the reason I bought it for.
