Is this also considered a screen protector? Shatter proof, rather?

Its a screen protector a plastic film but im sure it will not protect from shatter. Mine has a lot of visible scratch indents but hasn't ripped. The corners are starting to peel so im sure ill be changing it soon with the other one that came in the box.

Is this case friendly?

It worked for my 12.9" iPad Pro 2020 Zugu case, which doesn't cover the screen almost at all. The screen protector is also not completely edge to edge; there's maybe a 1-2mm gap between the screen protector and the actual edge of the screen if you center correctly. Just get a case that doesn't cover the edges and I think it'll work fine.
