Does this come with a 5/8" arbor?

The user manual (page 2) clearly says 5/8" spindle thread for all 7" and 9" models. All my heavy duty Makita grinders have been 5/8" arbor. Why someone says 7/8" is baffling--possibly a typo. I need to find replacement for my very old n GA7911. Amazing the 7021 is offered at such a reasonable price.

Can you put a 9" grinding wheel on this? What other size grinders can be used?

I am not going to encourage you to use a 9” wheel on this, but I will say take a look at the spec sheet on their site. This has the same specs as the 9”, just a different model number and skirt size. If you think about that, and the specs are 100% accurate, both models having the same power and RPMs should treat both 7 and 9” discs the exact same. Double check the specs, and then still don’t do it. There could always be something I’m missing. If you are going to do it anyway, though, at least get a 9” skirt before trying. I doubt using an underpowered grinder with a larger disc will cause anything to fly apart. I suspect if there was damage, the motor would bog down or be damaged. But be safe (and don’t try it).

Would you know if the back handle (where the switch is located) rotates?

Copied from description. The switch handle rotates 90 degrees left and right, while the side handle may be configured in any of 3 positions to promote user comfort and control.
