Great device, great flexibility with the serial interface!
I love this product! I use Hulu Live TV with the unlimited screen option because I tend to use the Disney+/ESPN+/Hulu suite quite a bit, so it's a better value for me than YouTube TV. But YouTube TV does have one feature Hulu lacks, multiscreen view for sports. However, even that doesn't solve the Thursday night problem where NFL is on Prime, so I was looking for a device where I could provide multiple inputs and show them on the screen at one time. For this purpose, 1080P was fine, and this device does it perfectly. But the remote doesn't cover the full functionality of this device, especially when it comes to switching which window is providing the audio at any given time, the remote only allows you to cycle through the inputs (you can't pick the 3rd input directly for audio, for instance). However, this capability did exist using commands sent over the serial port interface on the device. So I got OREI's serial cable and hooked up the device to an old linux laptop and played around with issuing commands. I very quickly evolved that into a fully functional iPhone web app interface (pic attached) and have it running on a very small Raspberry Pi zero connected full time to the device. I now have tremendous flexibility and functionality, where I can quickly switch modes, switch audio, and swap windows. Hopefully OREI offers a device in the future with wifi and app capability built in, it's a game changer! I will say I tried this model (supports up to 4K@30hz) and the next model up that supports 4K@60hz. The more expensive model did support the 4K@60hz resolution, but it didn't support Dolby Atmos, so since I would have to downgrade on the audio I decided it was okay to limit myself to 4 1080P devices and basic 5.1 sound. I didn't try the cheaper model that supports only 1080P because I was so satisfied with the capability to configure this model that I stuck with it.

Are you ready for some football???
bought the OREI Quad Multi HDMI Viewer 4x1 Out HDMI Switcher because I’ve been really disappointed that so many new TVs don’t include true picture-in-picture anymore. It’s frustrating, especially if you’re a sports fan who wants to keep an eye on multiple games at once without constantly flipping inputs. This OREI switcher ended up being exactly the kind of solution I was looking for. It gives me the ability to connect multiple HDMI sources and actually see more than one feed on the screen, which brings back a feature that a lot of modern TVs seem to have abandoned. The product is sold as a 4-in-1 multiviewer/switcher with quad-screen capability, and current listings show it around $44.99 with a 4.9/5 rating from 15 reviews, which feels like a great value for what it does. What I love most is how great this is for the sports fan in your life. On game day, being able to watch multiple matchups, keep one screen on the main event, and still monitor other games at the same time is a total game changer. Instead of wishing my TV still had built-in PiP, this gives me a practical workaround that actually feels better because it’s designed specifically for handling multiple HDMI sources. OREI’s multiviewer listings note support for up to 4 HDMI inputs, multiple viewing modes, 1080p support, and audio formats like Dolby and DTS, so it really does fit the use case for cable boxes, streaming devices, game consoles, and other sports-viewing setups. Setup was straightforward, the switching is smooth, and the multiview feature is the real star of the show. If you’ve been annoyed that TV manufacturers keep removing features people actually used, this is one of those rare accessories that solves a very specific problem really well. Overall: If you miss picture-in-picture and want a way to watch multiple games again, this is an awesome buy. It’s a smart gift for any sports lover, a great workaround for modern TVs, and one of those gadgets that makes you wonder why TVs stopped including this feature in the first place.

Useful HDMI switch with multi-view feature
This HDMI switcher is a great solution if you have multiple HDMI devices but limited inputs on your TV or monitor. It allows you to connect several devices and switch between them easily without constantly unplugging cables. One of the standout features is the quad screen multiview option, which lets you see multiple HDMI sources on the screen at the same time. That’s especially useful for monitoring different devices or setups. The included remote control makes switching inputs quick and convenient, and the signal quality stayed clear during use with no noticeable lag or loss in picture quality. The device also handled audio formats like Dolby and DTS without any issues. Overall, this is a solid HDMI switch if you need to manage multiple HDMI devices and want the added flexibility of a multiview feature.

Works great
Overall it works great. I can watch multiple shows or sports events at one time. The video quality is great. I only deducted a star because the controller is a little wonky but overall it’s worth it.

It's sturdy, and comes with hardware to attach to a wall or mount under a desk. The buttons have a satisfying "click" to them, which gives the impression the buttons will not fail. For the price, it's worthwhile hardware for my use case, although it may not be as useful for a large 4k device. It depends on your use case. I earlier gave this a lower rating based on poor video throughput, but I had missed the "RESO" button.
