Perfect. But we modified it for a 45" wide length. The Non-swivel Slider Style Hooks are Awesome!
This product is honestly good without any modification. I liked the slats look and the slide hooks look & concept. So I played around with the parts and created one for the house shown in this review photo, which has a window space between the upper cabinets that is WIDER than this 36" wide product and has no way to mount the wall brackets due to the window filling the entire wall area. So I got longer pine board slats, and did not use the two wall mounts for this project. (((( The main part that I am in LOVE with, are the NON-Swivel Stationary HOOKS ))) Family with poor eyesight or shaky hands can SEE and place pans on these NON-Swivel hooks better. Stationary vs Swivel Pros & Cons: The Non-swivel hooks glide back and forth easily. They more easily lift up and set down between the slats, using one hand, while the swivels change shape with the slightest bump and need to be lifted and lowered with two hands, one holding the swivel-y bottom flat, in order to lift remove and re-set them down into the 1/2" wide space. The swivel type ended up not sliding as well as they naturally rotate around in all directions so the rotated metal below the slat, caught the wood a bit more on the underside while sliding back and forth and are more cumbersome to capture cookware handle holes into. My order came with 6 swivel hooks. I ordered more of the Non-swivel (Cooks Standard fixed pot rack solid cast pan hooks, set of 4= $19.99 at that time ) *We only used 3 of the 4 included, long metal posts (see photo) that hold the slats/boards together. Your hooks will be stopped by these while sliding left & right, so more posts through the slats = less horizontal hook movement space. But the stationary hooks are easily lifted and re-set in between those posts/wood spacers (with a step-stool if you're not tall) All 4 posts will be needed if you do not modify this product. And you use the wall mount brackets. No screw searching required as well. *We then held our new boards together and drilled new holes through them to accommodate the metal post holders. These metal posts have a lovely end with a basic machine screw head on the other end. Make sure the uglier screw ends are all similarly facing towards your back wall. *We used 18 of the 20 included round wooden 1/2" spacers. Which thread onto each metal post, between each wooden slat. see photo *The hooks require this exact 1/2" gap provided by the little round wooden spacers, to drop down into and slide properly. *The boards provided measure 1" tall (front face view) and 7/16" wide (view from above or below) (7/16 is in between 3/8 and 1/2 on my tape measure) *Wooden Slats. I replaced the included, lighter weight/density, 1" X 7/16" pine boards with Longer boards from our local lumber store and cut the length needed/wanted. The basic economy pine slats from home depot, were a thicker 2" wide and the pine felt a bit denser as well. Definitely stronger to be able to hold more Cast Iron before starting to bow. I bought seven, 6 foot long pine boards as straight as I could find. Light sanded, applied a clear polyurethane coat, vice gripped them together and pressed them flat to drill the 3 holes through for the metal posts. Otherwise any deviation in the levelness along the length will cause the round metal disk top of the hooks to not set flat or slide horizontally properly. After relieving the pressure, the wood deviated slightly but threading the posts through the holes, and screwing it tight together, got everything perfectly level & straight again. The wood slats that actually came with the product are perfectly flat and straight! I could only go as wide as 7 boards due to the number of round wooden 1/2" spacers available using 3 posts. But 7 slats wide is good for this house. I am most likely going to order more hooks and create my own above island rack for a relatives home ! Those metal Posts & adventures in Screws. As far as the 4 included metal posts. Between the back of the screw heads at both ends, you have exactly 5 and 11/16 inch of space to screw together all the wood slats and spacers together. Only one of the two ends, of these 4 provided posts has a removable screw. In the products data, it is allegedly a Metric 4 machine screw. I could not find an M4-7 screw in the right ( length ) anywhere. While searching, some M4's would not screw in well into the same metal post (and all posts) that I brought to the hardware store with me, all M4's, some tight, some loose. I ended up getting a 4 pack of #6-32 x 3" long and had to add a small flat washers. The #6 type machine screw, perfectly tightened into 3 of the 4 metal posts and just spun in only one of them. That one would not tighten down, but I only needed 3 posts, so it worked out well. The #6 had a little concerning play, back and forth in the metal post but again... tightened down, really well. The products nice looking screw head is facing the kitchen and the uglier screw heads all face the wall. The nicer screw head side does make it look more finished. !! But you could build one without using those included posts at all, as long as that 1/2" wide gap is available for the hooks to slide properly. Like if you framed a box around the slats from the outside etc. We anchored the rack to the top of each side cabinet with hardware. So it's not budging, and is safe. We love the streamline look and functionality. Hooks & Wood Win. * Update July 2026. ( while ordering more non-swivel hooks for a different similar DIY rack. Yay) Zero bowing. Solid. No hardware weakening/failure (anchors, posts, screws) = ZERO movement of the rack during Heavy use. No detectable wiggle. Easy to dust top. Easy to hang pans to drip dry into sink. Easy to modify placement and hooks direction. We were able to continue running a length of thin led hue light strip across the top of the rear slat onto the top of the end upper cabinet, for full, uninterrupted, upper cabinet, up-lighting. The slightly wider slat board prevents the disk top of any rear hook movement, from interfering with the light strip placement.

**Serves its purpose nicely; is handsome; is easy to put together**
Really great product and looks very nice in my small studio kitchen. If I had enough storage space, I might not choose to have my pots and pans out on display but since my space is very limited and my pots are gorgeous, this serves my needs extremely well. *It is sturdy *It is very nice looking in an organic way *It is versatile~you can put your lids in the slots in the top and your pots adjacent *You can place the hooks in multiple ways to work out how best to store your particular items. *It is easy to put together *Must be placed in studs (if you are not sure how to find studs, search online for easy tutorials) For me, I purchased a few extra swivel hooks to give me more flexibility. Depending on your space and the traffic in the vicinity of your rack (and the height of your peeps) you may want to make adjustments. For example, one end of my rack is close to my fridge so to keep my bun (hair) from running into the pans as I access my fridge, I hung the shortest pans on that end. You can also hang in layers with your pans facing the wall or you can hang them "spooning" each other if you have enough of the swivel hooks. So do yourself a favor and get some extra hooks so you can avoid frustration and have the flexibility to work out the configuration that best meets your needs. Also, depending on how you place the hooks, it may be bothersome to some that the pots sit on top of the hooks. If you move the hooks to the outermost slot, you might be able to avoid that annoyance. If the pots are sitting on top of the hooks, you may not be able to safely slide the hooks around without jostling your pots. Just something to think about. It is just the way it is designed and I have worked around that so it doesn't really bother me but it may be a problem for some. Overall, I really like this product; it has made good use of wasted wall space for much needed storage space in my small kitchen. Good Luck.

Looks great! Easy to install. No complaints so far.
I read that another reviewer received 4 swivel hooks and 2 stationary hooks, so I was going to order some extra swivel hooks, but I'm glad I didn't. My set came with 6 swivel hooks. So, either my set wasn't packaged correctly, or the manufacturer read the complaints about the stationary ones and started packaging them with 6 swivels. Other than that, I bought this for my wife and she loves everything about it! As such, so do I. It was very easy to install once I gathered all the tools. It took about 8 minutes to measure, mark, drill, and mount. This thing is just what we neededโit freed up an entire cabinet! Now we have space to put more junk! :D I docked a star for sturdiness because out of the 15 round wooden spacers that go between the planks, one or two were cut slightly narrow, which left a small gap when installed (SEE PHOTO). Perhaps, it's not the dowel spacers and instead caused by the width of the planks? I don't know. Either way, I don't consider that a complaint because it doesn't bother me all that muchโjust an observation future buyers might want to consider. As far as I'm concerned, it's been hanging on the wall for nearly 2 months (at the time of writing this). Every now and again, I'll walk by and pull down on it considerably just to make sure it hasn't weakened anywhere. Well, the the thing hasn't budged (then again, it's mounted to studs). So far, I've not a single complaint, and as long as there's no UPDATE mentioning otherwise at the bottom of this review, then it's still hanging where and how it should. UPDATE: We're 6 months in and this thing has held up as expected. I have no regrets with this purchase at all (so far). I've also awarded the 5th star because the spacing from the dowel inserts honestly is not a big deal to me. In fact, I forgot about the issue entirely until updating this review just now. If anything changes, I'll update my review.

I definitely would recommend. It's nice looking and a good price!
The pot rack comes with easy to understand instructions was pretty simple to assemble and install. I would recommend you have a drill, tape measure and a level. The wood has nice natural look to it and hooks for the pans seem very rugged. My friends and family all have asked where I got it as they like it as well. The rack comes with six (6) pot hooks. You can order more if needed. There is some shelf space above if you wanted to set something on top.

Perfect size. Looks good. Well put together. Sturdy.
I love my pot rack. Can't say enough about it. But just a few things to address, that many people ask about: How much can it support? Well, that's a two part question. First of all, if you are going to load it with lots of cast iron, you might want to consider getting some longer lag bolts. The ones that come with it are sufficient, but not very long. I was just paranoid about it pulling out of the studs in the ceiling... so I just replaced them with ones that were 1 3/4 inches long to make myself feel better. Then, after I went through all of that trouble, I realized that it's probably not the lag bolts that would be the issue.... it would be the wood pieces of the rack itself. Let me be clear... there is NOTHING wrong with this pot rack. It's PERFECT! But the majority of the cookware I have is all cast iron. We all know that iron is heavy. That being said, if you put too much weight on the hooks, the wood will actually start to bow a little bit. Nothing to worry about... just spread the load out a little more. (i.e. buy more hooks) I have two 12 inch skillets, two 10 inch skillets, one 10 inch griddle, and one 8 inch skillet. (all in cast iron and hanging on the rack) I also have one 8 inch stainless skillet & pot w/lid, one 10 inch skillet & pot with lid, steamer insert & colander....all hanging from the rack as well. All without any problem. I just make sure to spread out the iron, so that there isn't too much weight on one side. Side note: Plenty of other little hooks to hang utensils, splatter screens, whisks, etc..... Other than that.... it's fantastic. Would recommend it to anyone with limited space.

A very helpful kitchen upgrade!
Iโm extremely happy with this purchase! It is so nice to have all your pots and pans easily accessible. I was getting tired of having to bend down and pull out a bunch of pans just to get the one I want and then put the rest back. Also, I have ceramic pans, so they need a barrier in-between so that the ceramic doesnโt get damaged. So by hanging them, I can avoid the need for that and the hassle. It also helps to be able to hang them to let them dry. They canโt be dripping, but if there are still water droplets on them you can just hang it up. This is a very well built shelf/hanger, all the parts seems high quality and fit together nicely. Iโm very satisfied with how it looks and the overall functionality of having one of these in my kitchen. I opted to get this one instead of the one that hangs over your sink because I think this one is more visually appealing and just as functional. It seems tacky to have a pan chandelier over your sink. I have uploaded a picture of my pots and pans setup and I will link to the other items used besides this pots and pans rack. The pot rack came with 4 fixed hooks and 2 swivel hooks. Additional hooks are available for sale on Amazon, but they are rather pricey at $20 for a set of 2. Itโs a third of the price of the whole unit just for 2 more hooks. I would recommend trying to make do with the 6 hooks provided. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! I made it wider and it's AWESOME!
We love it. It met all my requirements. I did have to create new wood slats to make them fit across my window, which is extra wide. Besides that, this is very well made, sturdy, easy to hang and creates a very appealing look in the kitchen. You'll need extra hooks. Here is my experience... I originally thought that solid hooks were silly; why would you want solid when you can have the versatility of the swivel. I quickly changed my mind. The swivel is pretty loose, so when you try and reach to hang the pot on the hook its a moving target. If you bump them, they swivel. So, I quickly changed to all solid hooks. Everything stays in line, doesn't move, and it's easier to thread the handle on the hook. Is solid for everyone, probably not. I can see if you have just a few pots and you want to decoratively face them different directions. I wanted to maximize my space and keep that uniformed look.

Perfect for small spaces-well made!
After surfing Amazon for days, I settled on this pot rack after reading countless reviews. I am really pleased with the overall quality & construction of the rack, it's really well made. As other reviewers have stated, the directions for install are a bit scant so do what my husband did and pull up a couple of reviews with installation tips, it helps a ton. After measuring and marking where the rack was to be hung (we extended the mounting holes out 2" as another reviewer suggested to minimize sway) my husband drilled holes up through the ceiling and inserted long zip ties so he could find them in the attic through the insulation (we used tape on the ceiling to hold them in place). My husband went into the attic and installed additional 2x4 cross members where we intended to hang the rack for strength & stability (you don't want 30 lbs of pots landing on anyone's head). The rest of the install went pretty quick and easy, although we have no idea how to remove the excess chain since we hung ours pretty close to the ceiling (and there is ample chain provided) so we just looped the excess chain around the hanging hooks, which doesn't look great. We absolutely love it and it makes getting our pots and pans so much easier with no bending down and digging through our previously used cabinet. Plus it freed up that cabinet for things like our larger pots and our glazed dutch oven. We are really pleased with it and have received so many compliments when our friends come for dinner. If you do a lot of cooking like we do, this rack makes it so much easier to grab the pots and pans needed. Highly recommend!

Solid and holds a lot, even for a smaller one. Came with tons of hooks and all the hardware to hang it. Came a day early, too.
