TONOR Conference USB Microphone, Omnidirectional Condenser PC Mic G11

I bought this microphone and a third-party AI-powered meeting transcription software. Took it to a 6-person meeting, not knowing how well it would work in the real world. I'm thrilled with performance overall. Audio quality was loud and clear, an essential for good transcriptions. We were in an enclosed conference room with just a moderate amount of noise from time to time. No issues at all. This is a fairly compact unit, making it easy to pack in my travel bag. Setup and installation is easy: Plug it in and select the external microphone in my transcription software. No driver or microphone software installation required. No batteries or external power brick required, as the mic gets power via the laptop connector. I do have a complaint about the cable. Although the cable seems high quality, it is permanently attached to the microphone. As a result, if that strain relief (where the cable attaches to the microphone) ever goes bad, the entire microphone must be replaced. Furthermore, the cable has a USB-A connector. It's true: some laptops still have USB-A connections, but many newer laptops (including ALL MacBook Pros) have only USB-C connections. USB-A is being phased out for many devices. It's easy to carry a USB-A to USB-C adapter, but those adapters are also easy to use. At some point, the company should consider switching to the current USB-C standard, which would still make it possible for those with USB-A laptops to use an adapter.

Very solid product. I use it for work meetings and the sound is nice and clear. I like the fact that it isn’t distracting in the same way a plug and play traditional microphone could be.

I like it overall -- the sound quality is good, it looks nice, and it feels solidly built. I’m giving it four stars because it’s not Microsoft-certified. That means when you press the mute button on the microphone, the mute status in Microsoft Teams doesn’t change, so you still have to unmute yourself in Teams using the mouse or a keyboard shortcut. Aside from that limitation, I’ve had no issues with it.

Works surprisingly well for the size and price. It’s a good option for zoom calls if you don’t want to have a microphone in front of your face. Putting it down on the desk in front of you is a good range. And easy to set up

Easy to setup on my laptop and easy to configure in Windows 11. Just plug it into a USB port and Windows automatically sets as my default mic when I plug it in.I use Audacity to record audio files and it works great. Audio pickup quality is adequate for what I need but as it is an "area" mic, the audio is a bit tinny before clean up on recordings. Great for recording small meetings. Don't think it would do exceptionally well in a large, full conference room, and certainly don't expect audio quality on par with a professional mic or a Podcast mic. It's portable, and easy to use and exactly what I need and it looks decent and is low profile.Adjustable setting are only what you can normally do in Windows mic setting and no extra software needed except recording software if you want something better than using Windows 11. I find Audacity works perfectly with it.

This microphone worked wonderfully for me for my mixed in-house/remote group of gamers for about two years. Just in the last couple of days the device refused to turn on when plugged in. Checking other reviews here, I saw someone who said theirs would turn on briefly if they jiggled the cable where it connects to the mic. I tried that and I got some flickers from the power light, so it does seem the cable went bad. I've been very gentle with this microphone, so the cable going out is surprising and disappointing. Before this, I had no trouble with it at all. It worked seamlessly and had great sound and the players all reported that it did a good job at filtering out noise. For the price I'd guess it's not too bad, but for the cable to give out under the minimal stress it was exposed to while I was using it is pretty bad. It'd be 5 stars if not for the premature death of the device. I have no choice but to dispose of it now and replace it.

I could not deactivate the AI noise canceling, so their less expensive omnidirectional usb conference mic, at $29.99 would have been a better choice for me.The sound quality was fine at this price point.Tonor addressed the issue — with no additional expense incurred by me.Would definitely deal with again.

This is an excellent microphone for office. It sits flat on desk. The microphone can pick up whispers or low speaking individuals and captures each word. Would highly recommend if looking for a great desk microphone. Has sleek profile and has a power on off button on top to indicate in use. Easily connected to desktop would definitely recommend

I bought this microphone for voice to text transcription during consultations. It works perfectly well even for speakers 2 meters away from the mic. I do not need to move it around. It has a very low profile, people do not even know there is a mic.

Good omni-directional pickup & sound quality. Easy installation - autodetected on both my Ubuntu & Windows systems. Very good value for money.
