Landscaping for Dummies

First time homeowner and I'm clueless about how to handle the yard duties. And Dummies books are always fun.

This book had a lot of things we were looking for, but not all of them. Would like to see a book that has more design ideas.

Good guide for novice gardener

The guidelines for growing and maintaining suggestions are not for my zone . I’m in a southern area . I’ll use what I can out of the book and pass it on.

It seems helpful for someone with a bare lawn but for someone who has an established yard and is looking to replace existing plants and trees and shrubs it's not very helpful. I bought it hoping to learn how to revamp and mulch soil after we remove hedges from our walkway but no such luck. Other than that It's not a bad book, it has a lot of helpful tips for choosing the right kind of plants and trees for your yard. If you're looking for a serious step by step book though, of course you realize a For Dummies book is not the right one for those kinds of jobs.

Bought this book to landscape my yard,but because im not ready i lent ot to my neighbour. He told me that this book has been a tremendous help to him and his yard looks great. it truely works for people who have zero knowledge on landscaping. i will recommend this book for all novices.

If you are looking to fix grading or put in flagstone this may not be the best choice. But for general landscaping it's not bad.

Good book, slightly worse condition than advertised

Really useful book for those of us who are new to landscaping.

Not much of the information I would have expected to see. Disappointed overall.
