After researching the options, from replacing the whole desk to changing my whole setup, I came across these sit/stand desk converters. Some with the separate keyboard shelf seem to place the monitor far too high - around 6inches above the desk - and as I wanted to sit sometimes and stand others that was no good for me. I came across this item purely by chance, took some measurements and replicated the setup with cardboard and packing tape in true Blue Peter fashion. The position was perfect for me, so I ordered 1 straight away on Friday evening. It arrived on Sunday morning and opening the box I was delighted with what I found. A heavy steel frame fixed together with substantial bolts and screws, a gas strut similar to what you would find in a computer chair is fitted horizontally under the top to give lift assistance and a secure latch lo lock in the lowest position. The lift assistance is stepless and locks in any position. The overall height is a tad too tall for me at 5ft 10 inches so overall this is perfect for my needs. Thank you Aimezo, I wish I had found you sooner. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Portable alternative to standing desk *by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 May 2019* I have a standing desk and it's brilliant. Yet it cost around £200 even secondhand and it's definitely limited to being set up in one room. This piece of kit cost less than half and can be used anywhere that has a sturdy enough surface. It's strong and well built, which also means it's quite heavy too. I personally would have liked a little more depth to the top so there was more space for the monitor but that's a quibble. If you want to test out the benefits of a standing desk without spending a lot of cash you should try this out. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product, easy to use, not too big, and nice colour *by D***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 October 2019* I really like this product. The colour blends with my office furniture, it is not too big, so I still have room on my desk for other things, but it comfortably fits monitor, keyboard and mouse. It is easy to move up and down, though sticks just a little when first lifted if it hasn’t been moved for a while. It does feel a little wobbly when it first starts to move but this steadies quickly.
