Performance Exhaust Systems: How to Design, Fabricate, and Install (Performance How-to)

My Great Nephew loved it. He's been a car enthusiast since he was a toddler. He's a very mature 10 year old and I figured that he was ready for some technical information, not just model cars and NASCAR. According to my Nephew, his son (my Great Nephew) loves this book. It just proves that technical books are perfect for kids when they have a great interest. I skimmed over the book and it's very well written, clear, and interesting. I liked it and I'm not even into cars. I intend to buy more in this series for him.

Great book that not only covers exhaust system design on its own, but also looks at the other factors in the engine that work hand in hand with the designs that you create downstream. After all, the power train works as a whole so its nice to see the author's decision to not treat the subject like it exists in a vacuum.

It’s a very good book. I think it could be better. It’s not as good as the other books that follow along these lines of experts like the ignition book probably six other books in this general maybe the same company but misses out a lot specially on stock vehicles I was hoping it would cover a lot more From the headers on back to the exhaust tips. I felt it’s more just for high-performance drag strip cars. Not really for a road racing or mile to meet Performance every day street cars that most people generally build more than they do high-performance not only drag strip cars.

lots of great information

It's a good, readable, and comprehensive overview of the different options available. Gives the DIY exhaust builder plenty of information to figure out what is needed to achieve power output goals, and different ways of doing it.

Very disappointing. I thought this book would provide an in-depth education about exhaust systems so that I could evaluate components not listed in the book. Not so, very general explanations, no sience. There is never an explanation about why a component is better so you know what to look for. It is nothing more a really long Hot Rod magazine article.

The information is poor

Wer dieses Buch kauft um wissenschaftlich effizient Krümmer oder Abgasanlagen bauen oder konstruieren will ist hier fehl am platz. Die Theorie besteht hier nur aus Faustformeln und Halbwissen des Autors. Auf die Materialkunde von Edelstählen wird garnicht eingegangen. Laufend werden Sachen wie Keramikbeschichtung und die Verwendung von verzinktem Rohr angesprochen bei billig Konstruktionen. Der absolute Höhepunkt sind Rear - Turboumbauten sowie die falsche Belehrung von Wasserladeluftkühlern. Nicht 1 Turbokrümmer wird angesprochen. Das Buch hat ausser seinen Bildern von schönen Abgasanlagen (die wenigstens Ideen anregend sind) absolut keinen nutzen für mich.

Livro possui muito conteúdo e informações interessantes, realmente da pra aprender bastante. Única reclamação que tenho a fazer é em relação a qualidade do livro. São R$ 160,00 num livro xerocado e com a capa cortada, depois de uma certa quantidade de páginas lidas, fica difícil ver o que esta escrito na parte do meio, porque foram coladas muito próximas. Já comprei livros dessa editora e sei da qualidade do material deles, me decepcionou muito não ser um livro original.
