I have a 78” x 36” lid that weighs 50 pounds. Will these lid supports work?

these require an inset hinge in the back? I need the door (48w x 36l) to sit flush on cabinate but dont want use euro style inset hinges. Any other?

I have two of these on a toy box with a heavy 2' x 6' x 5/8"? plywood lid. The supports certainly reduce the downforce of the lid, but it can still be dropped from the last couple inches when you're closing it. It won't soft close like a cabinet or drawer with a soft-close feature. That said, none of my kids have had their fingers slammed by the lid since I installed the supports (at least not so bad that I've heard about it).
