10L Desiccant Dehumidifier with Timer, Air Filter, Continuous Drainage, Digital Control Panel - Ideal for Cold Temperatures in Damp Homes, Basements & Garages

We did our homework prior to purchasing this and consulted Which? where we learnt lots more about the validity and use of these devices. Glad we did as this is amazing! We use it in 'auto' mode set at 50% when our little humidity meter in our rooms shows about 70% humidity which is very rare as we now have economical heating sorted out as well. We now mainly use the dehumidifier for drying the washing and no longer use the tumble dryer. We do 2 loads of washing on the same day, each load on an extra 1200 spin in the machine. The washing is then put on airers in the spare bedroom (12' x 10') and the dehumidifier switched on as above. The washing is usually on the airers by about 11am and it is generally dry by about 6pm and ready to iron or air in the airing cupboard. The bedroom is heated by an electric radiator set at 17 degrees so not too warm - we couldn't find anywhere in the research whether there should be heating on as well though. We empty 3 litres of water from the the dehumidifier afterwards and save the water for watering the plants! (The water is not suitable for drinking). The unit switches off automatically when the water reservoir reaches 3 litres of water). There is no condensation in the bedroom at all during this time and the dehumidifier actually gives out heat too. We are pleased to say that the condensation in our home is now virtually non-existent but, on these exceptionally cold nights, it can be left switched on 'auto' in the bedrooms overnight if required. It is not loud enough to keep us awake and the slight hum is actually quite soothing. It is also economical to run being 660W on high power. There are convenient handles for transportation (we move it from upstairs to downstairs with relative ease). We were thinking of buying another of these units but just this one is so effective, we will wait a little longer to see if we need 2 units - we don't foresee that we do. Highly recommended if used properly.

As this was my first Dehumidifier I did a bit of research and as I live in a old stone two storey house with dampness and with colder temperatures i decided on the Desiccant version of Dehumidifier over the compressor version as it works better in lower temperatures. Here is my verdict after seven months of use all i can say it is one of the best purchases I've ever made. 1: It works extremely well at removing moisture from the air in the house regardless of temperatures its very consistent and fills the three litre tank in a few hours. 2: Its brilliant for drying clothes especially during the winter months or anytime when it isn't possible to dry them outside it will dry a laundry load over night (it use to take nearly take a week to dry them in the winter inside before I got the Dehumidifier) 3: As well as dehumidifying it will warm a small bedroom quickly raising the temperature very quickly. 4: Now i mostly use it in the kitchen area on for two hours a day and it keeps the humidity down as it was very damp in this area no more dampness on the walls or mouldy, or damp smell or food going damp. 5: What I have found it is extremely consistent in the levels of moisture it removes regardless of tempertures at first i was gobsmacked at the amount of moisture it was removing so I'm emtying the three litre tank ever second or third evening but you can have it continuously drain with the supplied pipe if you wish into a sink or larger container. 6: So if you have a older, colder house i would highly recommend this Desiccant Dehumidifier if your house is newer or warmer then the compressor version might suit your needs better as I believe it is more energy efficient. 7: So the only negative is you can't run it on a timer as the machine has to be manually switched on but there is a timer switch which you can press to have it stop in 2, 4, 8 or 12 hour intervals after it stops it will run for couple of minutes to cool of so it is important to allow this to happen before plugging it out. 8: I don't often write reviews but this product merited a review as I was very impressed with it.

So I have had this for a week now. Today is 07.10.2020 and the weather has been averaging around 11C in the day and 7C at night. I live in a small 2 bed 1900s solid brick cottage with electric heating and without any extractor fans. To allow ventilation I have had to keep windows at least on a latch and with British climate the humidity outdoors has been sitting about 70-80%. My house has been pretty cold and with heating on low (to save bills) the house was sitting on 16C indoors with about 70% humidity. With this dehumidifier I have been able to keep all my windows closed and maintain 40% humidity (windows open only while showering or cooking with doors closed) and the heat output has heated my entire house to 23C - 24C. My main heating has been off all week and replaced with the heat from this dehumidifier. I now have an issue where I am too hot and have to turn the dehumidifier down to cool down a bit but sacrifice full dehumidifying benefits. Within a week I have saved money on heating and gone from walking around wrapped in slippers dressing gown and blankets to bare foot and in shorts! If you live in a small house and with windows closed you can expect this to provide some serious heat! Do not fear though because you can just turn the setting down to low and save energy. I would say this costs me about 9p an hour on full or 5p on low. So to conclude this has been revolutionary. I have replaced a total of 5.5kw electric heating battling windows on a latch heating my house at 16C and 70% humidity with a 0.68/0.35kw dehumidifier with closed windows. EXTRA: I highly recommend this to anyone with similar housing and if you do I also recommend an air purifier so you can ensure your air quality stays much cleaner to outside. Another fun fact that most people may already know but I have only become aware of is that the more humid the air obviously the more water but also the more it will cost to heat all those pints of unnecessary water in the air. So not only has this become a great humidity solution it has become a fantastic heating solution too. Hope this helps someone!

Have been using this device for about 2 weeks now in a damp, seaside environment, leaving it running overnight when the windows etc are closed. Each night it has yielded a full 3L tank of water and there's been no condensation on the windows, aluminium frames or ceiling - so a good result. As it is harvesting so much water, the 'continuous drain' (via supplied hose) is an essential & v.good feature. One disappointment... hence 4/5 star rating - the webpage on Amazon that advertised the product shows that it has AUTO-ON & AUTO-OFF. This is incorrect - it only has a TIMER to switch off. There is no AUTO-ON. Furthermore, there is no workaround because a timer on the wall plug will not switch the unit on as it has an electronic control panel. I raised this with the supplier and they confirmed that the webpage description was incorrect and the product has no AUTO-ON. To their credit they offered a full refund (which I have declined and decided to keep the unit). SUGGESTION: add an AUTO-ON feature or a cyclic ON-OFF-REPEAT timer to the next model as it would be very useful when using in an unattended environment. From a design perspective, I expect it would be an easy firmware fix - everything else is great. -------

I wanted a dehumidifier but was so worried about the usage costs as in england at moment the energy costs are so high. I read that these type of dehumidifier cost more to run but I still went for this one. On testing the power it actually runs on less power than my tumble dryer. And 3 times less than my economy electric heater. I use it on low setting. Since using this I have actually limited the use of my heater as this gets rid of the moisture in the air which makes the room feel warmer. So it's saving me money. If I use my heater it's virtually for 5 minutes as since using the dehumidifier it heats the room so much quicker as well. The settings I love as it's so easy to set it up . Just 3 slight negative points. (1) When you are setting it up it is turned on so you getting the blown air in your face. It's a pity you cannot set it up with it on standby mode and simply press power on to then run it. (2) the water drawer can be bit awkward to push in. I'm always worried if I push to hard and I break it. (3) I wish it had some sort of handle . Or wheels. It's not actually heavy but it's just easier to move about if it had handle or even better with wheels. But this is really worth purchasing so go for it. 😀

Just arrived. Size is like standard hand luggage, no wheels, no handles though, but there is a rim to grab for transportation...not optimal. Build quality seems very good, compact and it looks like a bigger fan heater. No timer, the pre set options of 2-4-8-12h modes are not proper timer options, probably will try to use a plug timer and leave the equipment on auto mode- if that works. Plugged it in, set it to auto, and decided to see what's going on. Set humidity on 40%, and now it's running. In an hour I recon 500ml water was extracted... usual humidity is around 70%, so looking forward what will be the effect later on. The room temperature feels warmer, and according to my thermometer it's up by 2Celsius already. It feels warmer in the room as the dehumidifier blows warm air out. Definitely a more comfortable feel in the room. High mode sounds like an air conditioner, low mode is more relaxed, probably will switch to low mode after drying out the rooms. No unusual smell, air feels drier after an hour already. Electricity cost will be monitored, however in previous calculation the plan to use it daily until the rooms are dried out and later just run it on low/auto setting to maintain humidity level around 50%. Cost calculation. High mode is 680w, while low mode is 370w, therefore with a €0.40/Kwh tariff running the equipment 24/7 would cost €3.5-6.5 daily, which sounds very expensive. Don't plan to run it continuously, so exact costs will be much less. However, the plan to set it for auto now for a month to see how much does it cost like that and adjust it later. Will be updated soon. Overall, it seems a very good investment, and my pre calculations are correct it will bring down the gas heating cost, while it may provide better environment in the rooms. Update 18 November 2024. The equipment in use since October 2023. Positives: -easy to set up -portable -3l water holder seems enough for daily runs -sleek design, really great looking -effectively prevented water accumulation in rooms, windows -mould prevention is excellent as it keeps the air relatively dry -its seems adequate for a 70sqm2 area. -cost effective!! While electricity went up by €10/month using it every day during winter months(6-12h daily on low setup, 60%), the rooms feel warmer, and the temperature check shows a +3C-5 celsius just buy removing excess water from the areas. Meanwhile gas heating is down by a 50euros/month( this could be due to the milder winter) Negatives: -no proper holder for portability/no wheels which can be an issue for grip -continuous setup is not really an option in rooms, living areas as it requires a separated bucket for water, which defeats the purpose of being sleek, not obstructive -needs to be emptied daily -its loud. Automatic set up is comfortable, however 55-60DB is disturbing during the night. I use it during the daytime and unplug it for nights. Conclusion: well if you don't mind to move it occasionally from room to room, or can be set up in a centre location it can be an excellent item to use. Much more positive experiences and the better comfort definitely makes up to the noise which could be similar to the use of air conditioning units. I highly recommend this item.

I bought this dehumidifier for my boat which spends 95% of its time sitting in the marina. I purchased it because about every two weeks I was having to clean mold off the inside of cabinets and under the mattress and everywhere. It was very annoying and unhealthy. I needed a dehumidifier that could work quickly to clear the air (because every time you open the door on a boat very humid air pours in). And I needed the option of leaving it for long periods without much attention from me. This dehumidifier is a really well-engineered piece of equipment. I say this because my friend who is an engineer loved it so much, he couldn't stop talking about how well it was made. It runs very quietly and didn't take much effort to figure out how to program the level of humidity I desire. When I leave the boat, I set it up on the countertop so the water will drain continuously into the sink. When I am staying on the boat, I set it on the floor and empty the water container by hand so it doesn't bother me in the galley. It worked like a champ for almost a whole year. About a month ago, it began making some rattling noises that progressed to a very loud rattle that would wake me up at night when it cycled on. I emailed the company and with very little effort, I was immediately sent a new one. They were incredibly responsive and even offered to refund me. But I love this dehumidifier and preferred to try again. I highly recommend this dehumidifier and this seller. Incredibly experience overall.

We have 2 of these machines, one on our boat, one at home, and have found them very effective. The company was very helpful when I was initially researching which dehumidifier to buy- dessicant v condenser. They are relatively quiet in operation, a simple rectangular shape, easy on the eye with no sharp edges. However when I next buy a dehumidifier, and I will, they are wonderful devices, I will be looking at other makes. The main problem I have with this is the control panel: off-black with fine cream writing. I need to find my glasses to read it in daylight and in darkness there is just a really irritating array of green led’s some of which blink, depending on the settings. They gives me no useful information whatsoever. Then there is a piercing alarm, loud enough to wake me, to indicate when the tank is full, and a miniscule red led which is only visible up close to confirm it. The second problem is the tank. If I take a slow, calm, measured approach, and the boat doesn’t rock suddenly, I can empty the tank without spilling it: the slightest degree of impatience leads to splatters, and hurry or Pugwash needs a major mop-up. The continuous drainage system is not easy and intuitive to set up otherwise Pugwash wouldn’t swear so much. The couple of times when it wasn’t set it up properly, the tank filled up and the machine switched itself off, no great harm done, but frustrating. I haven’t tried setting it myself as I would have to first have to find the instructions and then find my glasses. Having said all that it has been a good reliable machine, the best priced option at the time and on the boat now rarely needs to be switched on for more than a couple of hours at a time.
