MSD 6425 Digital 6AL Ignition Control w/Rev Control - Red

I mean these have been around for a long time and have been proven to be worthy.

I installed this on an older 95 LT1 v8 it really helped give it a boost in spark and car runs well. Note this was not a stock engine. It has a large cam, ported heads and Headers. Another note. I also have the MSD coil but still use the stock opti spark distributer. one thing that makes a big difference is using the correct oil seal on the distributer once I finally installed the proper oil seal that looks like a standard oil seal all the problems with the opti spark went away after cleaning the oil out of the inside. Don't need to waste money on a 595.00 MSD distributer. Iv'e only heard bad reviews about them. this opti spark distributer was only 45.99

I received DOA MSD control boxes from Amazon, however the third box I received finally did the trick! At first, I believe it was the installation or how my car was pre-wired, however after calling MSD and troubleshooting with them, I was convinced it was the MSD box. I have a smoother ride, more power/torque felt in the low/mid range, starts easier and faster (it already started great, but you can feel/hear the difference with the digital 6AL). Gas mileage, surprisingly, increased. Well worth the investment. My car is a 1973, Datsun 240Z with triple weber carbs, headers, and pertronix 1 elec. ignition. Please note I changed my Pertronix Coil to an MSD coil during troubleshooting before realizing the Box was the culprit, so not sure, but I doubt if the Pertronix coil is compatible with the 6AL.

I installed this in my 98 ram 1500 318 before install i had a slight timing issue my tdc (top dead center) was close to 0 almost every time and the idle jumped from 585 to 686 i did plugs wired cap rotor and still nothing....i changed my coil with an accl coil it greatly helped but not perfect, then i saw this bad boy bought it and the adaptor for the mopar coil.. wired it up in about 2 hours or so set the rev limiter (very important you get the ones with a rev limiter or u may damage your engine) and fired it up instantly noticed a stronger start and an increase in acceleration and torque probably the best mod i have ever dont tho this truck excellent part

I've installed these in a few of my Porsche 911s to replace the old capacitive discharge systems of the 60's and 70's. This is a great product, I've never had one fail even on my race cars. The improvement is noticeable; easier starts in all weather, smoother idle, slightly snappier throttle response. The kit comes with little odds and ends to make installation a breeze.

I have to say, This is a very good product.Install is easy. My car starts easier and runs noticeably better at idle and through entire rpm range. My only prob is that I can't change my rpm limit without a ecu reflash. This rpm limiter will work on older cars. I haven't tested it out to see if it will cut at a lower limit than my stock one for s***s n giggles to make sure it actually works. Besides that there are no issues.
