Review: USB C cable too short & only 29Khz Display Refresh rate! - I bought this as a one-stop item to both lift my HP Spectre laptop and add all the ports I needed. There is two issues I have with the hub and thus forced me to return. First thing is the USB-c cable from the back of the hub is short for me as my spectre USB-c ports are placed on the left of the laptop and of course the hub would plug is correctly if these were on the right. The USB-C port for charging my laptop is fantastic. One of the USB 3.0 ports doesn’t support charging other devices. I have the 2017 MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar (A1706) and I received a notification every time I tried to plug in the Lightning cable into the right USB port that it was drawing too much power. The 3.5mm audio jack doesn’t work. It made a really horrible high pitched sound when I tested it out with Apple Earphones. The HDMI port works well and connects to a TV monitor seamlessly.
