Made the data transfer from old and past it PC to new one. Well worth buying to facilitate the process and it worked. All programs, with one exception, all documents, spreadsheets, databases, photos, music up and running and accessible on new machine. Easy peasy.

This Laplink cable is a very easy way to transfer loads of data and photos from one laptop to another (once you've downloaded the relevant software, which is also easy to do). Amazingly fast, and great value.

Perhaps unfair to put 1 star on the hardware, but you're going to need to software anyway. PC Mover Professional is simply the worse bit of software I have ever seen in my entire life. The only thing that is not wrong (but not brilliant) is the user interface. The performance is highly questionable: the analysis (not transfer) step took about 48 hours; the stability is highly questionable: rebooting both devices solves connectivity issues 80% of the time, small issues brings it to a halt such as a minor version difference (without hints of upgrading); and the online system is a complete farce (for instance clicking on the emailed link shows an error message: TOO_OLD without any styling). Go ahead and spend your money on this: you may get there at the end, but also loose a week or two of your life. Obviously they are riding on the back of the success of the early versions of this software from the 80s/90s which was friendlier and much faster at 9600 baud.

Does job good price quick delivery

I couldn't get this product to work on my son's new computer that we brought of Amazon UK. But I think it was the connection between my old pc and the new computer. So I returned it to amazon UK

Expensive for what it is but apparently essential for a USB Laplink Transfer. You can always sell it on.

Call me naive but I was convinced that this item would have the neccessary software included as part of the package to assist me in carrying out a full transfer between my old laptop and a new one. Wrong! I checked online to see if there was a downloadable programme linked to my purchased cable that would enable me to carry out the transfer. Wrong again! The upshot is that added to the initial outlay for the cable, there is a additional £30.18 charge for the software!! Furthermore, this software is only valid for ONE transfer!! Utter con!! would not reccomend.

En primer lugar: los artículos que se compran son productos auténticos del fabricante. segundo: no me han funcionado. Principalmente quería transferir aplicaciones. Sin embargo, cuando esas aplicaciones se trasladaron a mi nuevo ordenador, no contenían mis configuraciones y personalizaciones anteriores. Además, tardaba mucho tiempo, no estaba claro si seguía pasando algo o simplemente se detenían las transferencias. También los ajustes de PCMover son en mi opinión no intuitivos y a veces bien escondidos. Así que podría haber tenido más fácil y más rápido las aplicaciones instaladas manualmente y me ahorré la compra del software para PCMover y un cable USB extra especial. Devolución de los productos.

Erstaunlich einfache Anwendung.

The PCMover software worked fine. Unfortunately when I bought a new computer from HP they sent me the PCMover with an Ethernet cable, which will not work on either my old or new PC. Make sure you get the proper cable. I had to go on Amazon to purchase the Laplink 6' USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Transfer Cable for PCmover. Once I did everything worked fine. But I recommend you look at the instructions to be sure you disable security software, firewalls, and power settings. By talking with the folks at LapLink they made sure I had done everything I needed to do in order for the transfer to take place. You should avoid using WiFi to do the transfer. Use the proper cable and you will be happy you did.
