It has been sheer bliss reading this book to understand the essence of The Dhammapada. A great way to kick start one’s quest for knowledge of Buddha’s teachings.

Easwaran has the ability to take the key learnings from various spiritual traditions and explain them in clear simple language. This book does that for buddha s teachings

The book is very well written and can be read from any page; it is very uplifting and refreshing. The Introduction is brilliant.

A must read for anyone interested in the fundamental philosophy of Buddhism as well as Indian philosophy. Nicely translated and put in context.

Brilliant style relevant content but very expensive

I regret buying this book ( i bought new one). I can clearly see that the author is trying to mislead the audience by discussing Upanishads/Vedas, which Buddha clearly denied. He is also telling lies by claiming that Buddha didn't introduce anything new, which is false. I would strongly advise against purchasing any form of this book that attempts to deviate from Buddhist ideas and promote the author's own religion.
