Must have item!
Works great!!! Only negative might be that the switch is really hard to push back and forth. Get the version with the clip, makes it usable anywhere because you can snap it on a stud, or a chair, or a ladder, basically anything to get into smaller spaces with it. Used mine for leveling walls and building a soffit around a bathroom and it came out perfectly level and true. I love this product because of the rechargeable battery which allows me to also plug it in and leave it running as long as I need if I'm on a long project for the day. This also works great for leveling shelves and stuff too. I just keep finding new ways to use it around the house. The other day I used it to line up a new shower valve and shower head pipe for example. It's very handy! Seems to be a quality item.

Handy for quick setup
As an installation artist who hangs a lot of work, I bought this to hang a piece from a 20 foot ceiling among three supports. Pointed upward, the markings made short work of installing the anchor points on the beams symmetrically in the space. Didn't bother with the auto-level or locking feature, but I tried them and they worked fine. So glad I bought this and have it for future installations!

Great little laser for the price
This is a great little laser for the price. The green laser has much better visibility in bright light. The unit can turn on in one of two ways, 1. Hitting the green power button on the top when the pendulum is locked, and 2. Unlocking the laser leveling pendulum by sliding the switch. Upon unlocking, it'll take just a few seconds for gravity to do its thing and level the laser out. The unit needs to be fairly level already or else a red light will indicate that it can't level the laser (nice that it tells you). In order to use with interesting angles, or pointing it down, i'll power it up when it's locked so I'm free to move it in any direction I need. Take note that if you need to angle it up or down at all, the leveling pendulum will need to be locked or else it won't be happy. Overall, very simple controls to get a simple leveled laser beam on a wall. Pros: Nice bright green laser Visible in direct sunlight Has additional vertical hash marks in the laser beam pattern micro-USB rechargable Decent clamp and storage bag included in the kit Screw on tripod connectors on both the top and bottom of the unit Has both vertical and horizontal beam patterns. Cons: Will only get a few hours of battery life Need to lock pendulum to get any sort of additional angles Laser beam isn't the greatest of quality. You can see some artifacts when close the beam pattern. Overall, this is great for those small projects around the house like simply hanging up a picture frame or putting up shelving.

Solid, bright, works.
Bright, easy to use and effective. Charges quickly and seems to last longer than I do. Using it for projects at home (shelves, counters, cabinets) saved me a ton of time - and it's all level. Has a standard 1/4-20 camera mount top and bottom, so I'm able to use it with my camera tripod.

I like it
I bought this for may son as a B'day present. I couldn't resist playing with it before wrappingt it. Overall, I was very impressed with the the laser level. The green laser was bright and crisp. I liked the dot formed lines and the "dash lines" incrementally spaced. Nice for setting thing off a center line (just count the dots). The auto level feature worked perfectly and the "lock feature" that holds the projected laser fixed worked as well. The clamp mounting system was pretty cool; it allows for height and skew adjustment in a ~1.5 inch range. I recommend this product.

Worked for what I needed it for
I bought this because I wanted to put up some shelves in my garage and had absolutely no desire to bust out the tape measure and pencil. It helped me get the job done a lot easier and faster than if I didn’t have it, but there are some things I don’t like about it. First off, the clamp attachment it comes with is borderline useless. Luckily the threads seem to be your run of the mill kind used on most camera tripods. I had a cheap-o compact 6” tripod that worked great for this project. The auto-level feature isn’t that great or useful either. I was hoping I could angle the level up to the height I needed it and then use the auto-level to make the line straight. In reality all it does is unlock the laser emitter so it swings freely, which allows it to come to a rest that’s about as level as whatever surface it’s on. Then when you want to lock it, you have to be extremely careful because the lock requires so much force you’re highly likely to cause the emitter to move as you engage the lock switch. Despite these frustrations, I’ve realized pretty much all laser levels are like this, so it’s not like this one is uniquely problematic. Just do some extra checks to make sure your line is true before you start driving screws into your wall. I ended using my tape measure in the end to double check that the two ends of the laser were at the same height. Still made the job easier than if I did it from start to finish with the tape measure. Once I had one shelf up. I was able to use that as a reference to make sure I had the laser set up correctly. If I had to buy another laser level, I’d probably buy one without the “auto-level feature,” and instead opt for one with a fixed emitter. I’d definitely get another green one, though. The green is actually much easier to see than red lasers I’ve seen, even in a brightly lit room in daylight.

Not worth it, spend more for something decent
If you will do work on a single wall for hours, this may be useful. If you want to use it to mark heights on different walls, make sure outlets across a room are at the same level, or plan on turning it or using the horizontal line for leveling, it’s really not a great choice. Very sensitive to any movement, so the lock feature often ends up ruining the level when you lock it. Cannot set the height you want to project at and THEN level, you have to level at default height and then move it and risk altering the level (which you will). Really disappointed. The tripod clip also can’t hold the weight of the level if you have it holding it out to the side, no matter how much you tighten it.

Muy bueno, aunque limitado.
Me gustó mucho, práctico y tamaño reducido, claro un poco básico, y limitado a una proyección de líneas en cruz sin opción de escojer entre horizontal o vertical. Pero por el precio es una excelente opción.

Good bang for the buck!
This laser is great value for the price. Very easy to use, accurate, and lasts a long time on a charge. I would have have 5 stars, but the laser isn't super bright. Indoors in low light conditions it is great, outside or with natural light coming in it is kind of hard to see (although still usable). I don't regret this purchase.
