Last year I bought a Bosch GWX10-45DE 4-1/2 In. X-LOCK Angle Grinder to do some leveling on some of our walkways. I knew I would need a dust shroud; but after doing extended searches I found out that Bosch does not make one for this model. I've tried a couple of 'Universal' models; and no luck. I saw a post that said someone had made a universal model work by removing the shroud adjustment lock before installing it. I've been looing for a universal dust shroud for 4.5-5 inch angle grinders that look like they could work for my Bosch since seeing that. So, I was very interested in trying this FectoSaw Dust Shroud when it appeared in the things I could try from the Amazon Vine program. I was impressed with it when I opened the box. There is an adjustable mounting system to fit types of angle grinders in the 4.5-5 inch size range. It come with 4 sizes of collar rings, a universal wrench, and 2 vac connection adapters, plus a 5 in grinding disk. My model is a 4 1/2 in; so I knew I wouldn't be trying it for safety reasons. I took off the lever on my grinder, and tried to fit the basic collar onto my grinder. It won't fit; but the Bosch GW series seems to be unique, so I don't blame FectoSaw for that. I can see this being a great addition for a wide range of 'normal' grinders; so only minus 1-Star for non-universal with my Bosch.

We've had an angle grinder for probably 40 years but you know what I haven't used it very much until I got this diamond grinding cup wheel with the Dust Shroud. This grinding wheel makes the very short work of difficult tasks when you are grinding down a surface like part of a driveway or smoothing out some sharp concrete on a walkway, like my husband did. The grinding wheel is aggressive and works fast. I am searching for reasons to grind something because it is so effective and when you are able to smooth something out that has been on your radar for years, in a few moments, it is just cool. The grinding well industrial out were pretty simple and standard to assemble on our angle grinder. Now our angle grinder is probably 30 years old and it is a very heavy duty and I am this grinding wheel so much that when it wears out I'm going to get more because it out a chore in a few moments that otherwise with other tools would take hours. This feels very durable The grinding wheel edges are sharp and hard and work very well Period now it's not meant to last forever these are heavy duty chores but they do make short work of each chore and that is a fantastic value. Well worth the reasonable price point. If you need a very aggressive grinding wheel for your underutilized angle grinder This one is pretty good and works well It's easy to assemble and pretty self explanatory

I’m super happy to have this dust collector attachment for my grinders. I don’t grind masonry often, but when I do it’s for extended periods. Grinding stone makes a huge mess, and requires strict PPE, so it’s great to have this dust shroud to contain some of the debris and dust. The adapter is sturdy plastic, and it comes with adapter rings to fit it to different size grinder housings. It’s easy to attach, and stays secure once it’s clamped down. While it claims universal fit, it is still heavily dependent on individual grinder designs, because there are so many types. Unfortunately, this adapter would not attach to my DeWalt DCG410 right away, and I would have to unscrew the spring finger for DeWalt’s quick guard adjustment system to let it fit. I didn’t want to mess with taking small parts off of my grinder, so luckily this fit without problem on my Craftsman CMCG400. The biggest criteria to make sure it fits is to ensure the grinder has an unobstructed and smooth spindle housing. The set includes four shims of different thicknesses, so the most critical part is ensuring nothing is sticking out of the spindle housing that would prevent the ring from sliding onto it. As a small nitpick, I suggest the manufacturer proofread their safety label, and perhaps fix it so it looks more professional. While it’s good that they cared enough to put a safely label on the dust shroud, and I appreciate that they did, the warning should be formatted properly and not have typos. I attached a picture of the label to show the typos and forgotten spaces between words. It comes off as sloppy on an otherwise well thought out and manufactured product. Overall, It’s quite good value when you consider that it comes with a grinding disc, and I’m happy to have it. Just visually inspect your grinder to ensure it will fit unobstructed before purchasing, and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Unfortunately, despite the claim of being "universal" in several places, it won't necessarily fit your angle grinder. It doesn't fit mine, a Chicago Electric from the harbor store that sells freight. The opening diameter is fine and one of the included adapters would work, but there's just not enough clearance for the shroud to sit flush on the grinder gearbox. It does seem well made and I'm sure it would work fine if it fit my grinder. The shroud is plastic though, so it might not hold up under daily use. But then again if you used something like this on a daily basis you'd probably have a dedicated concrete grinder rather than repurposing an angle grinder. For homeowner or DIY purposes, I think it's probably fine. There's probably no way you're going to know whether it fits on yours or not unless you try it yourself. There's no way I would have been able to determine from the pictures or description that it wouldn't fit on mine.

Package arrived undamaged and contained all the items identified on the product page. The first time I actually needed one of these I didn't have one, I had just poured by first concrete counter top and needed to do a bit of finish grinding. I had to improvise with a piece of tupperware and some duct tape. It mostly worked but there was more dust escaping than there should have been. This unit is a perfect replacement for my improvised shroud and the vacuum attachment fits way better where I don't have to worry about it falling off every couple minutes. It is super easy to use with the multiple collars and the different sized vacuum attachment ends. Just through this on, hook up the shop vac and a grinding I will go. The supplied grinding wheel works well for concrete and little to no dust escapes the shroud. I really like the feature where you can open up the one side so you can grind closer to an edge, it actually still sucks up most of the dust even with that side piece open. If you're going to do some grinding, especially indoors, like for counter tops, do yourself a favor and get one of these shrouds, it keeps the dust level waay down.

This dust shroud and diamond grinding wheel set is a very practical combination for concrete and stone projects. I like that everything comes together as a complete kit, so there is no need to purchase the shroud and grinding cup wheel separately. The dust collection is one of the best features. When connected to a vacuum, the shroud captures a significant amount of the dust created during grinding. It keeps the work area much cleaner, improves visibility while working, and saves a lot of cleanup afterward. The diamond cup wheel feels durable and removes material efficiently. It works well for smoothing and preparing hard surfaces such as concrete, marble, granite, stone, and masonry. I also appreciate the wide compatibility with different angle grinder sizes. The adjustable design makes setup straightforward, and once properly installed, the shroud stays securely positioned during use. Another useful feature is the removable edge section. It allows you to grind much closer to walls and corners without having to remove the entire dust shroud, which makes finishing edges much easier. Overall, this is a well designed and useful grinding kit. The combination of effective dust collection, a durable diamond wheel, wide compatibility, and close to wall grinding capability makes it a great addition to the toolbox for renovation and concrete work.

Effective shroud kit with grinding disc for concrete. I do have a fectosaw angle grinder. So that was a direct fit. Comes with accessories to fit other angle grinders as well. Easily connect to my shop vac for low dust concrete grinding work. It does what its made to do for home use. Plastic shroud looks and feels tough and significantly reduces dust.

It's roughly a third of the price of the yellow big-name brand's shroud alone, and this one throws in a diamond cup wheel too. For a weekend DIY project, that price difference is hard to ignore, unless you're a concrete contractor who can justify paying extra for heavier-duty fit and finish. The shroud body itself feels sturdy. It also came with a couple of different vacuum adapters. I did have to spend some time experimenting with the collar inserts to get it mounted correctly, and honestly I'm not crazy about that collar system. Once I figured out the insert I needed, I marked it so I wouldn't have to play the guessing game next time. Dust collection was much better than grinding bare, but it depends heavily on your vacuum. I use a shop-vac with a bag and fine dust filter, it cut the mess down a lot but you still need a good mask, because you'll get little plumes when you lift the shroud or break the seal. This isn't magic dust deletion, but it does keep the job from turning into a concrete snow globe. The removable edge section is useful too. It allows you to grind close along walls without taking the whole shroud off, however, ⚠️ just know that opening that edge lets more dust escape, and it still won't magically get all the way into tight corners. It's a trade-off, but a practical one. My biggest issue is the included diamond wheel. On both of my angle grinders, the wheel sat about 1/4" too shallow inside the shroud, so I couldn't safely make contact with the surface. I compared it against my older name-brand diamond wheel on the countertop, and the FectoSaw wheel was about 5.4mm shorter. With my old wheel installed, the grinding surface sat within about 1mm of the bristles, which is much closer to what you want. That wheel fit issue changed the whole experience for me. With the included wheel, contact felt unsafe because I had to press down too hard before it would bite. With my older diamond cup wheel, the shroud behaved much more like I expected and was actually useful. So for me, this ended up being a good dust shroud kit with a bonus wheel I probably won't use. My box was missing the adjustable wrench. That's not the end of the world if you already have grinder tools around, but it's frustrating because the included wrench looked like it had a nice design. Between that and the wheel depth problem, I can't call this a flawless kit. Bottom Line: This is worth considering if you mainly want an affordable dust shroud and you're willing to fiddle with fitment or use your own diamond cup wheel. Skip it if you expect the included wheel to be ready-to-go on every grinder with no adjustment headaches.

While this seems like a great idea on paper, the reality is you are working blind. You can’t see the blade to see what you’re doing. As far as installing this – it was a pain. I had to jam a screwdriver in between the clamp and manually spread the (reluctant) sides enough to finally get it on the angle grinder. (Their adjustment nut doesn’t have much adjustment.) As far as the vacuum hose goes, even though they provide various adapters, the one that was tightest kept falling out with every movement. This did not thrill me at all. After trying the diamond blade I went to remove it. It’s much deeper/thicker than a normal blade and my removal tools kept falling off because I couldn’t get an adequate bite. I had to bend a tool and use a snipe to finally remove it. This, also, did not thrill me. As well, the diamond blade is very heavy and generates a massive centrifugal force. As a result, the associated gyroscopic precession (powerful force at right angles to your movement) sends your tool all over the place. In a few words, I’m not at all impressed.
