Kaytee Woodland Get-A-Way Large

The medium size house is perfect for a gerbil. There is no assembly required. Just place it in the cage. The rooftop terrace has been a favorite place to leave treats and my gerbil Luke will jump up and grab them. So far, the wooden house has withstood some chewing, but eventually it will be destroyed as all of these accessories are by gerbils gnawing on them.

Nice hut; glad they're still being made. The hole on the X-large is smaller than the Superpet hut I bought years ago, but my guinea pigs use the entrance only; the hole is used for stuffing hay in there and they don't chew it. This hut is lighter weight than the original but will serve the purpose.

Perfect hide for my rats. They basically ate the plush hide I bought for them. This is sturdy and they love it. They like to sleep on top of it too. I place a pad inside to make it cozy.

The medium is extra small. These are generally good, but I ordered the wrong size.

Got this size house for my almost 2 year old guinea pig. He loves the extra space to move around! We started with the "large" house (rated for guinea pigs) when he was a baby, which worked just fine at the beginning. As he grew, it got really cramped and he slept with his head sticking out the door! Also with the "large" size house, he couldn't avoid sitting in the potty corner during the night...yuck! This "extra large" house now solves those problems. I would say this house is fine for 2 guinea pigs living together. Also should be fine for a small, young rabbit. One thing I like is the wood it's made of...very sturdy, smells good, fine for chewing. I can't bear the thought of my piggie chewing on one of those igloos and digesting pieces of plastic! Mine has never shown interest in climbing on top, but I've read others do enjoy that. Just keep this house toward the center of your c & c cage to discourage climbing out. I highly recommend this product. Keep in mind that pets grow, so purchase accordingly. Remember, when things get tough - KEEP CALM, and CAVY ON!!!

WARNING*** UNSAFE! Our new baby guinea got STUCK in the hole. Found her in the morning and she had her whole head stuck in the circle. I had to push her ears back and try to push her face out & she did squeel when getting her ear smushed. This was a VERY close call or her life & safety. Thank God I was able to free her. We had just put this in the cage last night. The size we received may have been the small- I cant imagine one being smaller than what we received, but I did order size medium & Large. This cage design is horrible for guinea pigs with such tiny circles. DON'T TRUST this with baby & new guineas. Fortunately our girl should be ok but her behind the ear has a bare patch now from her trying to free herself while we were sleeping. Very scarey ordeal! I hate to leave a bad review bc we love most of the brands products but this one should be removed from production.

I was excited to find this house on Amazon because of the way it looks. After reading multiple reviews, it looked like a great purchase with practically no downsides. However, I was not counting on the fact that my hamster would get stuck in the little hole next to the entrance. Poor guy was super excited to check the house out but got stuck for over a minute. I immediately took it out and superglued an extra piece of wood over the hole to make sure my Syrian would never get stuck again. He's just a normal size hamster, not overweight. After I resolved that issue, I let him try out the house again. He avoided it at first because of the little incident, but day two is here and he's made it his home. Overall, it's a success, but I highly recommend sealing that hole with something before your hamster gets stuck and you're not around to help them out.

I bought the Extra-Large one for my two guinea pigs for Christmas since their old hideaway was getting too small for them. Both the smaller window and the larger door can fit my guinea pigs, especially if one is trying to get through and the other one is blocking an entrance. I have one smaller guinea pig and one really fat one and she can get through the window hole no problem. I guess it is probably because the extra-large size is meant for rabbits. Its nice that there are two ways to get into the hideaway because the larger one that I have always seems to block the entrance, so my smaller one can't get in or out. There is plenty of room for both my guinea pigs to move around in this hideaway. It is a little tall for them to try and jump on top of the house. My previous one, they liked to climb to the top for some reason. Another reason why I stuck with a wood hideaway is because they like to chew on the sides or the entrances (even though I have plenty of chew toys, they only like to chew on their home). It keeps their teeth worn down. No complaints, my two guinea pigs love their new home!

This product is great for guinea pigs, rats, and small to medium sized rabbits. If you have a large rabbit like a Zealand or a giant cross with Zealand than no it will not fit! My female rabbit fits this perfectly she is a lop eared rabbit of medium size. The walls of the wood is 3/8 thick and fairly durable. My rabbit sits on top of it with no issues and likes run inside when she wants to hide from me. I got this to keep her from trying to dig out of her cage as she had no where to hide this helped that issue as well.
