Tapered, bicycle toe stitching and a softly squared toe create luxurious stylelines. ECCO is a European shoe company founded in Denmark in 1963. Today they own and operate factories throughout Europe and Asia. They produce all the leather used in making Ecco shoes, taking measures to protect the environment at the same time. Their sole aim is to make a comfortable walking shoe. Review: Lightweight, Great Support, Dressy w/comfort level of slippers, Hands Down Best shoe out there for the money!!! - These ECCO Men's Helsinki Slip-On shoes, are just the best thing since sliced bread!! Tapered, bicycle toe stitching - a softly squared toe that creates luxurious stylelines They stay soft yet firm and grippy, not like the plastic stuff used by others!! Softly, yet firmly, gripping your foot...you must try a pair and see what I mean! Don't doubt my word, just read the other reviews here, also! Excellent lightweight dress shoe. Wore them first day I got them and never had any discomfort at all since. Best shoe out there for the money. Do yourself a GREAT favor once , and get yourself a pair of these great, comfortable, and long-wearing shoes. You wont regret it and may even thank me. I can tell you personally that the " ECCO Men's Helsinki Slip-On shoes look well, and go with everything, and brush up wonderfully when soiled or skuffed looking!! Enjoy, and wear 'em in great comfort! After I had them on, I am convinced that nothing else could ever measure up these ECCO Men's Helsinki Slip-On shoes already bought 3 of these in Black ( but one pair alone will last a long time with every day wear too) and love them so much. If they where cheaper id buy half a dozen more and put away for later. Tip: Buy them when you can get 30% off as they almost never go on sale below $139.95. Hope this helps someone. Review: Most comfortable dress shoes I've ever worn! No annoying laces! The support is excellent. - I bought a crop of 3 pairs of Ecco shoes about 6 years ago and loved them. I decided I loved my lone pair of slip-ons the most, since laces are a complete annoyance to deal with and clean. This is the currently the best and apparently the most popular slip-on that Ecco makes right now. Got a pair in the "cocoa brown" off desertcart and it came in looking really light brown and different from the color in the pictures. I applied some car seat Armorall leather lotion on a microfiber rag and let the lotion wet and soak into the leather since they arrived bone dry with no leather lotion or polish. Turned out to be a great idea for minimizing wrinkling, which can be brutal to watch when you first put on new shoes and take a few steps. I went out the next day to an Ecco store and got the coffee shoe cream since he showed me that matches much better than cocoa-brown. Now maybe the moisturization from the leather lotion turned it darker, but they look beautiful like chocolate and have a dark luster. I also tried using the leather lotion with other clean rags on my old Ecco shoes and the colors really came out! Too bad my old pairs are damaged and need to be replaced after 6+ years of scratches and cuts. But yeah, use some leather lotion to get that Ecco shoe cream to really do its job...otherwise it comes in such small amounts it never truly spreads evenly over the entire shoe into the wrinkles and stitches. But getting back to this Helsinki slip-on, the padding and support are far superior to any of the Ecco dress shoes I've ever had! It's snug but even on days where my feet feel swollen, I can stand in the lab all day and my feet/knees feel amazing and energized! It doesn't have that tendency to "fall off" your heel with every step like a cheaper pair of Cairo slip-ons that I tried and returned...the Cairo is super wide and loose, and I didn't like the pointiness of the shoe tips. This Helsinki slip-on feels like it could be used as a running shoe without all the annoying laces coming loose and constantly needing adjustment.

5 stars - so far...
This is my second pair of Ecco's and I'm impressed. My first pair was a pair of Goretex Dress boots. Those were really comfy but not something that I'd want to wear in the summer. These are amazing shoes. I'm in sales so I'm either in my car, at my desk or standing in front of a client. My first take with these shoes was at an all-day trade show. Normally my feet hurt at the end of the day. But with these, the support was there all day and the cushioning is amazing. It's almost like a really comfy sneaker but disguised as a dress shoe. I've owned Allen-Edmonds, Cole Haan's (with the Air support) and now these. The AE's look very formal but are not for long days on your feet. The CH's are good but they have wear issues. I've only had my two pairs for a couple of years and they are wearing down quickly. They are more comfy then my AE's but less then the Ecco's. These Ecco's feel amazing. We'll see how they last. Update: 12/19/12 These are still amazingly comfy shoes. Again, I can't comment on the wear since I haven't had them for a long time but they are very comfy as are the Ecco boots. I'll probably get another pair of lace up's soon. I'm, most likely, going to switch most of my dress shoes over to these. I'll still keep a pair of Allen Edmonds since they do look a little more dressy then these but for everyday use, it's very tough to beat the Ecco's. If you are in a job that requires dress shoes and you are on your feet a lot, get a pair of Ecco's - you won't regret it.

Durable Shoe & Fairly Comfortable
I used to buy new Sketchers every year because they would never last more than a year; sole would wear through and seams would start busting out where the shoe bends. After 4 or 5 years of this I thought "Maybe I could spend a little more and actually get a shoe that will last more than 1 year?" After much research I ended up at Tradehome Shoes in Burnsviille Center where a knowledgeable young man helped me out a lot! He suggested a few styles based on what I was looking for; business casual, office / cube all day, wanted them to last more than 12 months. He happened to be wearing these ECCO Helsinki's himself as well as another guy there. Said he's on his feet all day and the ones he had on were over a year old. They looked... broke in... but certainly not worn out or even close. The other guy only had his 9 months and they looked good too. The price was cheaper than the others he showed as well. Unfortunately the price on Amazon was significantly lower =( I've had mine for 6 months now and they are still in great shape! Only minor scuffing on the tips which honestly I expect since I never polish them and they see some very harsh weather. Tread on the sole has barely worn where as my old Sketchers would be totally smooth on the bottom by now and starting to show where they were going to split. I'd say the comfort is acceptable especially compared to the Sketchers where I HAD to use a cushioned arch support. I have one fallen arch and these shoes have adequate support with out any inserts. There's also a heel cushion which is OK. I did try an insert but it made the shoe too tight so if you still want to use an insert with this shoe I would try a half or full size larger. Hopefully after a year I'll remember to come back here and respond if it's still in good shape. However after 6 months I can still tell it's wearing out much slower than my Sketchers of old.

Best Professional Work Shoe Ever Made
I have been working in the professional environment for over seven years now. The thing is that my job is labor intensive, but I still have to look professional (Tie, slacks, ...etc.). EVERY shoe I have bought prior to ECCO has a limit of six months then I have to toss them for falling apart. I have tried Kenneth Cole, Cole Haan, Clarks, Sketchers,... the list goes on. Shoes that only cost me $30 and shoes that cost me $250. Every one has a limit of around six months. I have had my ECCOs for over a year and a half now and only the inserts have had to be replaced. The leather did fade slightly but nothing a little boot polish could not fix. So lasting this long alone is worth the 5 stars. Where I would rate the shoes even higher is because of the comfort. These shoes feel like sneakers, but look like traditional slip-ons. The only way where people could tell that these shoes have a rubber sole is if it rains and my shoes squeak on the tile. But I would prefer a little squeak rather than a hard fall if I were using leather soles. So to sum up my review if you want a shoe that is extremely comfortable and that will last you, ECCO is well worth the amount they charge. If you have to wear shoes like these every day like I do you WILL spend more over time if you pick any other brand.

ECCO Men's Helsinki Slip-On,Black
I only buy Ecco and Lowa shoes or hiking boots for a couple of reasons; main one is they injection mold the soles with a solid poly urethane material that makes the soles last for a long, long time. The solid injection soles have out lasted the leather tops and probably at least 12 heel replacements since I pronate outwards. This is versus all the super light weight EVA shoes that last 4-6 months if doing any serious walking. Secondly extremely well made and comfortable with the leather uppers and internal leather insoles and the fact they are slip-on, makes it easier to go through International and domestic TSA airport checkpoints. I have now 3 pairs of these casual /business dress shoes since I am in sales and I have to travel frequently to various parts of the world ; 7 trips to Asia last year as an example. I am 6" + tall and 225 lbs so no small person. I have had the last 3 pairs for over 6+ years now. I just replaced one pair with these Helsinki Slip-On's. The others I have are the Seattle slip-On's which were discontinued . These Helsinki model shoes are just as comfortable right out of the box. The fact I got them for 25+% off the regular listed price just can't beat that. I stopped using my Johnson Murphy & Bostonian's since I switch to Ecco a decade ago. Also when speaking to local ECCO out-let store folks, they tell me their #1 customers for their shoes are UPS, FedEX and US Postal workers which tell you al ot about the comfort, longevity and value you are buying.

COMFORTABLE AND DURABLE
It has become increasingly difficult to find good quality shoes in a world where mass produced “cheap” shoes abound. When I purchase a pair of shoes, there are two main criteria that I am looking for: 1. They are comfortable to wear for prolonged periods. 2. They are durable, and will last a number of years. These shoes fulfil both of those things. I work as a nurse, and wear these as work shoes. I am standing and walking in them for my entire shift, and my feet are comfortable, well supported, have enough width room, and I have no issues with foot pain or discomfort at all. Also, they are easy to keep clean as they can easily be wiped clean. I realise that these are not advertised as work shoes, but more of a casual dress shoe. However as a work shoe for myself, they have been great, and I am sure I will get several years worth of wear out of them.
