Wolfenstein: The New Order

Good game.. nothing great though.. anyways.. what else can you expect from the Fallout 74 Makers!!! :D

What’s not to love? Kicking Nzi butt BJ Blazkowicz. The last gem in the series

I originally bought this game to pass some time for Watch_Dog's release next week and it was well worth the purchase! I did think it was a bit pricey at first but to see the reduction in price the day I received it, made it even better! Gameplay wise it is very straight forward, you're killing Nazi and their robotic abominations from dogs, to mutant soldiers and robots! It doesn't have the paranormal aspect the last game had but it makes up for it with the retro-tech in the sixties. At times you will have to do some form of lock picking/hot wiring to progress or to find valuables that'll either upgrade your health limit or armor. The game doesn't entirely make use of health regeneration, only after every twenty piece of health will it regenerate, you've got to find armor segments and health packs, they're plenty but on higher difficulties it does require you to think a bit more since your health/armor will be shred to pieces! You can dual wield pretty much every weapon, which is pretty fun and the game is very gory which suits the setting. You can also upgrade your weapons as you go along, the plasma cutter is the weapon you'll find upgrading the most and the upgrades do appear aesthetically! You don't make many choices in the game, literally, your biggest choice is in the first mission, which give you alternative timelines! Over all, the gameplay is fantastic and a bit more difficult than some of the FPS' released so far for the PS4. It doesn't have an online mode, which I am thankful for, they have put a lot of effort into the game and the setting, anytime they could've put into an online would've taken away from the single player and with the plethora of online games about now a days, it's not something that's going to be missed. I personally liked the story, more than some of the games I've played on the PS4. The setting works fantastically, you do get to venture around the world a little and more, I found most of the characters memorable and interesting. If you're into the lore side of the games, don't worry, there's plenty of newspaper snippets and conversations in the game that helps the story of the game and none of them are very heavy reads, it was refreshing to read into the story a little bit more while having fun killing the Nazi's. It was boasted this game was meant to last twenty hours, I suppose that will vary on what difficulty you play it on, I played it on medium difficulty which was hard enough for me, I've completed the first timeline (or whatever you may choose) in around ten or so hours, if you're going for completionist then it will surely last for the twenty suggested or even longer. All in all, it's a great return to the game that started the FPS genre, I wouldn't worry about some of the issues mentioned by IGN and what not, you'd really need to find and focus on those mentioned, none of which actually popped out to me in the entirety of my gameplay hours. If you're wanting something light and isn't meant to be wholly serious, this is your game!
