All worth it
This is an outstanding book. Growing up in a war ridden country which is growing through a cultural revolution as well is a different kind of an experience. This book actually make you go through all the authors experiences which shaped her up. It is presented in an comic format but it is actually a great prose. It is written at a comfortable pace, making you go through the nuances and the ups and downs.

A must read graphic memoir.
When you read this one, stop and pause for the grandmother's one real advice she gave the author when she was young.I am quite impressed with how the author presented so many events that happened in her life in just a little over 300 pages! However, my only issue is this:Damn the small fonts. It was a real struggle. Otherwise I like how well written and illustrated this memoir is.I don't have much to say about the political events mentioned or comment on the personallife of the author in the book.I just loved reading about the family bonding, especially between her and her mother, that between her and her father. I love the grandmother so much.Reading this memoir gave me some rare life lessons.Tips to read this graphic memoir:*Expect only black ink blunt illustrations/artstyle*Expect easy to get into writing*See the people in this as real and be more understanding towards them*Take your time to read it*If you are a beginner and cannot enjoy the book, close it and read it after a year or so. But read this graphic memoir once.

REVOLUTIONARY๐ฅ
The Story of a Childhood tells the story of Marjane Satrapi's life in Tehran from the ages of six to fourteen, years that saw the overthrow of the Shah's regime, the triumph of the Islamic Revolution and the devastating effects of war with Iraq. It's the author's based true story epicted so many trigger warnings like veil discrimination, Social class discrimination , humiliation, the war and many more. She always wanted to be a prophet but society doesn't wanted a girl as a prophet ๐ฅฒ. The moment she realised how a water cell feels and read books after hearing the non-understandable things from her parents. That was a bit humourous ๐.The story well written, often funny and sometimes heartbreaking.

Great entertaining and historical book on the Iranian revolution
Really enjoyed reading this book. It is easy to read (in a cartoon format) but it is also very serious, describing the life during and after the Iranian revolution through the eyes of a rebellious teenager.

I had read this book a long time ago and it is a pleasure to re-read it now. It is still relevant in today's day and age.

This is one of the most interesting books I've read this year. Gives me a lot of insight as to what happened in Iran. A good book to broaden one's understanding of contemporary world history. Highly recommended.
