### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ X to the Z is back!

Xzibit has endured some of the largest ups and downs I've ever seen in an emcee's career. He started out as an underground phenemonen, as a member of the Alka-Holics, and dropping classic tracks like Paparazzi. He got his big break when Dr. Dre took interest in the young aspiring rapper, and put him on his ground-breaking album, 2001, as well as producing multiple tracks for X to the Z. Despite being on so many commercially successful emcee's albums, and having support that other indie rappers would die for, Xzibit never really blew up. It's hard to say why. There's nothing wrong at all with Xzibit; he's actually one of the most underrated cats of the last decade, especially in his native land of California. He had dope rhymes, significant hype, and strong production, yet the mainstream never really took to him; keep in mind, Xzibit basically tried to enter the mainstream during the Shiny Suit era, and his rhymes were a bit too complex for the average hip-hop listener(and still are, perhaps even more so now). Xzibit was down, but not out; how did he rebound? With a reality television show on MTV. Yep, whether we like to admit it or not, Pimp My Ride revived Xzibit's career, and got him back in the eye of a commercial audience. He tried to capitalize on his newfound popularity by releasing with Weapons of Mass Destruction, but failed. Now, Xzibit never really fell off, but while he was aiming for the mainstream, his music quality toned down quite a bit after Restless. With a new independent deal, and an album crafted to please both himself and his core fanbase, Xzibit manages to release one of the best albums of the year. Tracks like Thank You, Invade My Space, Concentrate(which flips a crazy Buddhist sample), On Bail, Rollin', and Ram Part Division are just some of the many highlights of this album, which is dope from the minute you press play(something Xzibit's mainstream brothers attempted to do this year, but failed miserabley at). Pick this album up; it's another amazing hip-hop album in 2006, which has undoubtedly been one of the best years for hip-hop in a considerably long time.
