keeps you motivated
My husband and I are on month 4 and getting more steps in each day thanks to our lil Bud. We were, basically, DOD when we started, just getting a modicum of steps although we do a lot that don't count as steps so we weren't really DOD. But our son got one to keep him honest every day and when we saw how easy it is to deal with we each got one. So happy we did. We began at perhaps 2,500 steps a day and now with no seeming extra energy, are up to in the 6,000s- 8,000s. Any time we're discussing doing something we light up, "more steps!", and get it done. Tony Robbins "power of now" helps a lot, too. It is motivating to have this little guy to help keep us measured and honest. No irritating extras to deal with- the FitBud is a pedometer, period. And it is the most helpful thing we own. You push the button, and it's ready to go for your walks with you. The steps don't register until you've hit 10 and then it begins to track them, starting at 11. When we're done at night we write down our steps and turn them off for the night. In the morning they go on again. I don't understand how people could break them or lose parts. The whole thing is tight and sturdy and well made. There is nothing about them I would change, but it's changed our lives, for the better. We feel great, have more energy, and our clothes are getting looser, and all for an inexpensive little object that just sits around in it's quiet way just being honest. What a steal! When it's too cold or slippery to walk outside we walk inside the house and up and down the stairs. Anything that gets us steps. We also have a ReboundAir and a Cellerciser , small, well-made trampolines, that give us tons of indoor, and safe, steps during this slippery winter weather. You get a lot of steps per session on a trampoline, it's fun to bounce, and it's better for your health than regular walking because bouncing helps every cell of your body become stronger, and forces the lymph through your system. Lymph only moves when you do and it's the system that helps remove useless debris and cleans your internal self. The combo is astounding. If you plan to get yourself something worth the money this Christmas I highly recommend the FitBud and a small trampoline of high quality. Your spring self will thank you and jump at the chance to get out and get a bunch of steps outside again! Update, well I did break mine but only because I was holding it in my hand in the dark and pulled the cord and flung it hard against a hard floor. It cracked the glass. I just bought another one. I'm on year 3 I think Oct. 2024) and still love this gadget and put it on every day when I get out of bed. It's a good friend that keeps you walking.

Inexpensive & terrific little step counter
My high-tech FitBit Versa was a piece of garbage. Died in 6 months -- no reason -- and during the time it did work, it was endlessly buggy. In the end, I hated it and decided that rather than invest once again in an expensive smartwatch to track my steps, I'd go low-tech. I'm so glad I did. This little step counter does nothing else -- just counts your steps. It won't tell you the weather; give you "feedback" or "encouragement" and, it can't steal your personal information either. But, what it does do is WORK. Now, whether or not it is accurate is an open question. I have a step counter on my smartphone too. And, if I use both at the same time, I get pretty much the same step count reading. I've also done a low-tech test at home. I walk around the house counting the steps I take and then looking at the counter and seeing if they are close-to-the same reading. There can be a variation of around 10-15 steps, but for the most part -- and most of the time -- they are pretty close. In short: This is a nifty, easy-to-use, small device that you can clip-on or wear around your neck. If you drop it or submerge it in water and it goes tits up -- you can replace it for around $22 dollars. If you don't need the bells and whistles -- this is for you!

More accurate than new tech
I bought this because my Oura ring and my treadmill didn’t seem to be quite accurate about my steps. I wear it clipped to my waistband or pocket, and I love it. It also comes with a lanyard attachment, but I’ve never used that, so I can’t vouch for its accuracy when worn there. Sometimes old school tech is better! It’s very portable, easy to wear, secure when clipped, has a more accurate step count than any modern wearable I’ve tried, and isn’t very expensive. You can’t beat it!

Easy to Read, But Inaccurate Step Tracking
I purchased the 3DfitBud to track my daily walking, but unfortunately it has not been very accurate. During several walks, I noticed that the step count was significantly lower than the amount of walking I did. I read that the device may require a few steps before it begins tracking, so I took that into consideration. Even so, the recorded step count was still far lower than the actual number of steps I took. I tested it in different pockets and positions, but the results were still inconsistent. I like the simple design, large display, and long battery life, but accurate step tracking is the main reason I bought it. Because of the inaccurate counts, I can't rely on it to monitor my daily activity. If accurate step counting is important to you, you may want to compare it with another tracker before purchasing.

Much better than I expected and simple.
This is just me. I had to put only 4 or 5 stars, but I say 4.5 stars only because I had to figure everything out at first. There is no charging. It is one of those little batteries inside that needs a very tiny Phillips Screwdriver to open up and replace it. But that is not needed until the battery wears out. It is working to perfection, and I did not have to select anything. I put it in my shirt pocket, and it only works when I take steps and not when I am driving. I never count laps anymore. Just steps. It is so nice to go off path and walk all over the place. And at 66 years old, I no longer walk briskly. Just normal walking and enjoying the scenery. Over 8500 steps daily, and I feel great. I can pause to talk to people or walk at a slower pace with my spiritual women or daughters' I hang out with once in a while. Just remember to keep hydrated with a good swallow once every 500 steps or so. It worked for me.

Accurate, good build, easy to use
Received product on time. Fits the description. The step counter is sturdy but the belt clip feels a little flimsy, a lanyard is provided with it. Simple and easy to use
