I will report back when I get everything together when I get the top shell I ordered....but I have some notes I hope will help.I have bought a handful of sets of dualshock parts from different sellers over a few years span and it is my experience that some parts may end up being useless. In examining this set, the options - share buttons are not compatible with the controller I have. The buttons are built in, so I just painted them with a little nail polish of the color I wanted.This is also the first time I have ever used any touchpad piece. I always left it stock because peeling out the motherboard is very intimidating, but I did it this time (I just hope it works when it's all plugged in lol)All of the other buttons look like the ones I pulled off, and I am confident they would fit if I used them. If anything, the arrows look slightly small but I have metal ones as well as metal thumbsticks because I am a little heavy handed and regular thumbsticks always crumble on me.All of the other buttons I'll be using are from an old "luminous" set that I customized. I usually reconstomize my controllers every few years, so I'll hang on to the parts for future themes, it's no big deal. ### ⭐ It's obvious they never actually tested this with a JD 040 controller board. *by T***D on January 16, 2022* Ok, so first of all, the fit on this shell is terrible. Fully assembled, there's over a millimeter gap on the right and left shoulders where the top and bottom shell SHOULD be closed.Additionally, the membrane mount for the PS button is designed incorrectly, so to mount the membrane where it goes I actually had to poke new holes in the membrane just to get it to attach to the top shell properly. Not a good look.Then there's two little spires of plastic that serve no structural purpose, but do prevent you from properly inserting the actual controller board internals. I actually had to snap those off just to fit the damn board into the shell.The square, circle, X, and triangle buttons, along with the d pad, work alright, but the included option and share buttons actually require you to cut off your originals from the plastic on your board just perfectly so that they press on the remnants of the previous buttons to activate a button press. And then there's the shoulder buttons. The L1 worked ok, but the R1 was made so poorly that after assembly, even after reseating it multiple times and even reseating the membrane, it felt like someone spilled syrup on the button, was very sticky and not responsive at all.Oh, and to top it all off the touchpad plate they include, even after transplanting the sensor from a working DS4 official touchpad plate, doesn't work. It doesn't have the actual capacity to transmit touch data to the sensor.So out of all of the crap they sent me, about half of it didn't work and was complete garbage, and the other half of the kit was barely competently made. I would have sent it back for a different one in hopes of getting a better made kit from them, but I ALREADY HAD TO DO THAT because the FIRST kit they sent, that I had to return and get a replacement, was labeled on the box as a DS4 shell kit, but was actually a xbox 360 shell kit. Clearly this company cannot be bothered to test their products or even pay attention to what they're packaging and selling.Tl;dr: spend your money elsewhere, this kit is TERRIBLE in both design and execution. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty decent Case - Fit with a little modification for JDM-055 *by G***7 on March 12, 2020* Got a used controller that a dog chewed on but it worked. I gutted it and cleaned it but needed a case. Was unable to find a full front/rear case for a 055 board but since this was a 040, i read there was only a minor change between the 2. The case fit was nice, no molding flash. I did have to clip 4 small thin pieces of plastic in the case to make it all work but it was easy with a nail clipper. The only reason i gave it 4 instead of 5 stars was the buttons were hanging up in the case a bit. I had to file the slots that keep the buttons straight and stretch the plastic a bit.
