The Overton Window

In 1973 i was the only American student to join the Acadia University School of Education tour at the invitation of the Chief Pedagogue of the then USSR. We were the first western university invited to study their educational system. Truly by happenstance, i met the KGB student who graduated Suma cum laude that year. Because the KGB liked me because of my insight, because i could 'pitch' their accepted understandings of the world and ask questions with that understanding, i was told about Saul Alinsky and the overall inevitability of success that would transpire from his work and that of the many others mentioned in the book, The Overton Window, by Glenn Beck. They were all understood by the KGB to be dupes of the Soviet design and its machinations. See: Rules for Radicals The Soviets didn't mind that i knew. Why? Because they understood why it wouldn't make any difference even if everyone in America knew. At the same time i was still close friends with the daughter of the 2nd or 3rd in command at the FBI. Only he knew i had gone to reconnoiter my enemy - on my own - without any authority or direction from any US Government agency or authority. I didn't need any and wouldn't have accepted any if it had been offered and wouldn't have accepted a "no, you can't do that without 'our' permission"! Hell, I am a Northern New Hampshire Yankee. NO ONE EVER TELLS ME WHAT I CAN OR CANT NOT DO! That is just how it is with the crowd who kept safe in the Northcountry Lost Caves the cannon and powder and shot stolen from the H.H. fort as the first overt act of war against King George prior to Bunker Hill (by the Masonic Brothers who were the commanding officers of that fort)! What do i have to report now some forty years later? Everything worked out just as the then Soviets knew it would... for the reasons they knew it would... So, now what are you going to do? If you think the Constitution is an old dusty document that needs to live and evolve, then you better had reconnoiter this Glenn Beck book. If you are afraid of the Progressives and their movement and how duped they all are, you better had reconnoiter this Glenn Beck book. If you are of the black race and don't know that the bulk and the best intelligence George Washington ever got ALWAYS came from blacks who were of the Price Hall Masonic heritage [and knew themselves to be his Brother and equal as such], you better had reconnoiter this Glenn Beck book and find out what is going down now. All of you in America, no matter which side you think you are on, are all dupes. The Soviets know why. They knew it about the world more than 40 years ago. The question is, can the world keep from fragmenting? Should anyone even try to stop the fragmentation? Is the sovereignty of self and the ground you stand on the better idea? Do you then have to look to see who is to your left, and to your right and see yourselves as the sovereignty that will stand? In Franconia N.H., Robert Frost wrote the poem 'Good Walls Make Good Neighbors'. It is about how it is done in the Northcountry. Your neighbor is who you argue with. It is who you hate. No one gets to beat up on your neighbor... NO ONE gets to do that but you! They are YOUR punching bag. No one gets to pick on them but YOU. Think on this for a moment. Remember, this is the State with the licence plate that has as its motto: LIVE FREE OR DIE LIVE FREE OR DIE is about individual, personal, private, the-ground-you-stand-on Sovereignty ... so you can fight with your neighbor! Think about it. Do you want to tell others what to do and how they should be? Do you want to be told what to do and what to think ... or what to feel? Do you want to let anyone but you fight with your neighbor? Where is your safety in the end? Reconnoiter the book. Reconnoiter your enemy. It is dangerous not to.

I greatly anticipated reading this book. Once started, I couldn't put it down 'til I had finished it. I wasn't disappointed; in fact, it kept my undivided attention and interest as there were plenty of surprises along the way. I don't get a chance to listen to Glenn Beck much, but I've read his other books. I applaud and admire Glenn for being so versatile. It is rare to find a non-fiction writer who can also be a good teacher, let alone one that can write fiction and be entertaining. He's quite good at describing a situation and painting a very clear picture of what is happening by using just words. I highly recommend this book - and it gets 5 stars from me for two reasons. First, I believe it is well written and entertaining. Secondly, it accomplishes what seem to be its ultimate intended purpose of waking people up and getting them to join the new American Revolution the Tea Party started in order to take back the Government and make it responsible again. If you love America and want to see it continue to be free for your children, then I highly recommend you read this book ASAP. I believe Glenn Beck is a strong Patriot and a leader in the fight for Liberty. Although this is a fictional story, enough of it rings true enough so that most readers won't be able to sit quietly on the sidelines and watch the evil takeover that is strong-arming us into Socialism. A WORD OF CAUTION: If you read this book and begin speaking out or taking action to defend Liberty, there is a very high chance that those who embrace social governmental control (and the removal of our U.S. Constitutional rights) will become offended. And, because they don't have a regard for following laws (because they equate liberty with the freedom from moral discipline), they might try to accuse you of false wrong doing (i.e. lie about you and perhaps call you a racist) and otherwise try to harm your reputation. Therefore, I would highly recommend getting another book called, Wild West 2.0: How to Protect and Restore Your Reputation on the Untamed Social Frontier . As a Patriot, it is inevitable that you will run across people who will try to ruin your online reputation (like they do to Glenn Beck). This book tells you exactly where to look for the problems that Liberals might cause for you and then how to repair them.

While I like Glenn Beck and appreciate his candidness, I simply could not get into the book. I found it tedious to read, and more than once did I want to put it aside. Not a good sign... The characters are one-dimensional and boring, the storyline has no line to it, and at the end of the day I just don't know what Mr. Beck intended to tell me. I do agree that there is such a thing as the Overton Window, and it is being applied daily, but what of it? The book doesn't really delve into the matter sufficiently. Perhaps a non-fiction book would have been better in this case because people do need to know the tactic of the Overton Window.

Who knew Glenn Beck would be such a masterful writer? I applaud his intelligent use of the thriller genre to open people's eyes to what life may soon be like in the "transformed" America.

At last my nail biting and counting the days are almost at an end. In maybe a day or so 'Overton Window' by Glenn Beck will be delivered to me and I will be fervently reading it. When all the reading is done, I will, I promise, post a review. Until then I can only wait patiently for it to arrive. On and upwards Glenn baby. After reading the two new reviews about this book I thought it was about time I returned to my unfinished one. I have read the book and now I am adding the following. I found 'Overton Window' a light easy read and not at all written in a lazy unsophisticated style. I must admit it doesn't rate with the greatest books of all time, but, on the other hand, it doesn't rate as bad book either. However, I doubt Mr Beck was shooting this high in the first place as to create a minor masterpiece. It is a composition I feel of a lot of other stories- eg 'Manchurian Candidate'- instead of a horrendous Mother figure it has a Father cut in the same mould. He even has a speech that is a variation on the same theme as Mommy Dearest in the previously mentioned book. A lot of the ideas woven into the story are not new and have been around a long time. Another theme that echoes through out is that of Terry Gilliam's 'Brazil'. The ending is very similar as to invoke memories of it. Strangely too 'Overton Window' throws my thoughts back to the books of Graham Greene that dealt with Fifth Columnists, Esperanto classes and spies mingling among the upper classes at English fetes. One must remember 'Overton Window' is a work of fiction and must at all times be read as such. I am sure Mr. Beck is not trying to brainwash anybody into thinking along the lines of 'Please follow me' like some sort of modern day Pied Piper. I suggest anybody intending to read it to accept it for what it truly is just an interesting read to while away the time. So be it.
