I thought this would be exactly like Spam, but it is not. It is very much corn beef. It is not a pureed meat; it has texture and the stringiness of beef. The flavor is of a salty corned beef, but really not overly salty. I have arthritis so it is really hard for me to open cans. But this one, with its own little crank works great! It is a LOT easier to open than a can opener version. The can comes completely full, and it is really a nice lunch meat. I would indeed recommend this to friends. I think it would be a great item for camping or backpacking.

This stuff is terrible. It's greasy and off color and tastes like dog food and the cans are extremely hard to open

I usually prepare my own corned beef for Saint Patrick's Day but did not this year since I was not having any guests. I bought this to have with cabbage, potatoes and corn muffins. I used half the can of corned beef for that. The following day I sliced the remaining corned beef and lightly pan fried it. I put a slice on a potato roll with mayo and mustard and it truly was delicious. I'm definitely looking forward to having it again. There's a bakery in my town where I can buy fresh pretzel bread buns. I know this corned beef is going to be a real treat on a pretzel bread bun with mustard.
