Have definitely helped my lower back pain I would feel after long days on the water. As a Charter Captain I’ve put these through the test and they have held up great after a years use in the salt water. They also dry quickly and breathable

Great sailing shoe
Bought these for coastal sailing in New England in the summer and they have been a great shoe. Held up well, size is true and look great. They also have nice soles that don't catch too many stones etc. if you wear them on land and then back on the boat. Great shoe!

Unusually High Arch
The arch on the Columbia Men's Castback is unusually high. Even after wearing them for a few days, the arch area would not compress. I have many shoes and sneakers that do not have this issue, so the arch height is related to this sneaker. The only solution to make this shoe work is to purchase a different shoe insert, but that increases the cost. Or you can buy a Helly Hansen Skagen. That fit straight out of the box.
