I used this kit to convert my non-boost 2015 Stumpjumper Comp Evo from a 2x10 to a 1x12 and couldn't be happier. I was worried if the rear cassette would fit...after all I'm going from a 10 speed cassette to a 12...how will it fit???...but if you have a Shimano HG freewheel hub I was assured it would fit and it did! The kit has everything you need except a DUB bottom bracket which is required! (In my case I needed a DUB PF30) Since my bike has a pressed in BB and I didn't have the tools to remove and press in a new one, I went to my local bike shop for that. While I was there they told me they'd install the rest of the kit for another $50 bucks more so I went ahead and let them do it. The simplicity of the new 1x12 NX Eagle system is amazing and shifts super smooth. One thing I did change is I took off the 32T chain gear that came with the kit and put on a SRAM steel 30T chain gear for those steep climbs and added durability. This kit is fantastic and I am so happy that I went ahead with this. If you're thinking of converting to 1x12 stop waiting and do it!

I have a 1990’s Performance mountain bike with 3x8 transmission. I wanted to do a 1x11 group to update it. I tried what seemed to be a cheap 11spd groupset and it didn’t shift properly, even after adding a SRAM 11sp shifter. Returned it all and bought this one, a DUB BB and tool and I think it was only $40 more. Once installed, it’s awesome. Add the DUB bottom bracket for your frame. Don’t forget a tool for it. I like SRAM grip shifters and may switch later but the shifter that came with this set is great. Nice accurate shifting, well engineered. Great deal.

Upgraded my wife’s V2 Bronson from a 1x10 to 1x12 with this. Great value for the price. Everything you need except the bottom bracket tool. But if you are doing this most likely you have that already. Not the top of the line group set but again it is not priced like the top of the line group set. Average install effort. Make sure you are comfortable indexing your own derailleur, if so then you should be able to handle this. Other wise just take it to the shop.

Replaced my 3x8 with this setup and it works great. Been running this for almost two years now. Like others said you will need the matching DUB bracket, but that is also a nice upgrade. The best feature if the downshifting, you push the lever all the way in and it will jump up gears almost instantly. Takes some getting used to the timing to stop at the gear you want.

Freakin awesome price and quality

The NX Group is a really good value. I’m upgrading an old frame to eliminate the front derailleur. All the components appear to be very good quality with the exception of the Xg-1230 cassette. In researching the cassette, I saw mention that the gears were all pinned to several aluminum carriers to spread the load across the cassette body. It turns out only the largest cogs are pinned on a carrier. The smaller cogs are individual. My cassette body is aluminum that is easily marred by individual cogs. Due to this , I’m upgrading the cassette body to steel so it will not gouge. If I had known the cassette had individual cogs, I would had paid more for the GX kit and upgraded the cassette body to an XD. Otherwise the Group set is really solid. Crisp shifting and very similar to the more expensive SRAM offerings with more weight.

i installed this on a 2020 trek Marlin 7 with only a few user error issues. it was my first time installing a new drive train on a bike so it took me a little more time then a professional but was well worth the struggle in learning about the parts and how they work. i think this is a great groupset to learn the basic ins and outs with. Its was great to simplify to a 1x12, the original 2x8 seemed to have a bit of redundant overlap in the gears, the 1x12 is much cleaner to shift all the way up and down, with out huge gear gaps. I through the chain in to the spokes three times before i got the derailleur limit screws set properly. def take your time indexing your gears and tightening your sifter cables.

Great price for a good groupset. As provided, this group is for non-boost bikes (comes with a 6mm offset chainring) but I made it boost by swapping the chainring for a 3mm offset to get boost 52mm chainline. Works great! Comes with everything you need except bb. Now just need to wait for winter to be over…

I replaced a Shimano 3x8 with a SRAM NX 1x12. My wife loves her Marin Mill Valley Alp 2002 and didn't want a new bike even though she was struggling with the triple chain-ring derailleur. I proposed an upgrade to a SRAM 1x similar to my new road bike. The upgrade went well and I was amazed that the 12-cog NX cassette slotted onto the hub that previously held the 8-cog Shimano cassette - no hub change needed. I replaced the bottom bracket with a SRAM DUB BSA-threaded, and this also went well. Work-stand testing was good. On the road (under power) the 11T cog suffered chain skipping. This was solved by grinding excess material from the perimeter of the hub end-cap. My wife was delighted with the drive train upgrade. The NX is designed for MTBs and for a road bike my wife needed more speed. I increased the top speed by replacing the standard 32T chain-ring with a 38T ring. She is now looking for even more speed so a larger chain ring is imminent. Delighted so far.

Definitivamente es otra Mtb, yo mismo realice su instalación con la ayuda de tutoriales, fue relativamente fácil teniendo toda la herramienta, es x mucho la mejor compra ya que los cambios se hacen muy suaves, supero mi espectativa.
