HARKEN Bosun's Chair Deluxe, Model 2234

I don't like the fact that Bosun's chairs are expensive but this one was the best price I found for this model. It has a solid seat bottom so it doesn't pinch your butt and hips. It's strong and I felt safe going up the mast in this chair.

I purchased the bosun chair to replace an old one. For a woman, my previous chair put the squeeze on my hip bones. I wont have that problem with this one. Very sturdy and lots of rings & pockets, too.

My employees love this seat. We do sandblasting in sewing and storm and water wells. They work out of this chair 30ft deep in a man hole they love it. No more ladders to work off of. We use fall protection with it on a tripod and a romper control winch so they can have full control moving up and down.

I was recently up a mast with a bosun's chair without a waste strap -- a big power boat came by leaving a huge wake, the main sail slapped me like a tennis ball and I flew around the diamond stay until i hit the mast, no idea how I did not come out of the chair -- the waste strap give added security of knowing you won't come out of the chair when things go wrong.

Great piece of kit to have onboard. I have gone up the mast multiple times on it, and it always gets compliments. It is comfortable, and quite functional. The only negative would be the price, but if you can look past that, this chair should last a very long time. It also comes with a simple mesh bag, which is great for storing it with ventilation.
