Needed for school

I've been using these series since I was in college tutoring elementary - middle school kids. And with each new edition, they get better. Now I use it with my own kids. comparing this series to other popular vocabulary workbooks, I prefer the format, various genres of stories, and repeated practice. It really helps the kids to not just learn the words, but also utilize them in everyday writing.

My wife used these in the 90s but they have changed and include cool website resources
These are a must for my middle school students. Some people in education are talking these down and telling me they only drill students but I am hearing my students use these vocs daily and am seeing examples in their writing. My wife used these in the 90s but they have changed and include cool website resources. The only downfall on my edition is that the QR codes don't seem to work.

Great for studying words for middle school
My son's teacher recommended this book to prepare for SATs and other state exams. He insisted we get it and he studies it every single day. He is in 7th grade. I am happy I purchased it for him and I am so glad he is enjoying learning new words.

Thorough vocabulary exercises
Some of the vocabulary words are not commonly used and very challenging. The synonyms and antonyms are frequently challenging vocabulary words as well. The book includes a reading passage for each chapter which shows the words in context. There are also very good exercises for vocabulary in the review sections every third chapter. Overall, this is a good vocabulary book.

Mini workbook! Yet it works!
It isn’t the normal size of a workbook, but yet the writing space and educational material isn’t sacrificed. Nothing seems to be left out and all 15 units are included. Just a little surprising.

Great book to have for school
Perfect book for my 6th gerade. It was easier for him to have the book directly and be able to work with then relying on the teacher given book to study since he had his own at all times.
