Takes a bit to locate. acceptable considering the price and it is quite accurate.

Susceptible to interference from nearby usb3 devices, keep that in mind if you're plugged this GPS receiver into a Raspberry Pi 4. Aside from that it's fine for adding an offline location and time source to a computer

DO NOT place this unit close to a Raspberry Pi as there is substantial interference with WiFi and BlueTooth signals which makes sense since one radio is interfering with the other radio. Also I find the dongle works best if it is orientated horizontal and with a 4 inch square of metal under it as an antenna reflector ….. aluminum foil seemed to work OK but a 4” plate of aluminum worked better.

So this flash drive only comes with a label referring to a manual with a tinyurl address. This sends one to a google drive. Then there is a warning that google will track you. Plus can't access google drive without "requesting permission". Device may work, but I'm not going to let google track me just to get its software. Returning.

I bought this USB GPS module to give my Windows 7 desktop PC a physical location. I have not been able to download a driver to make it work. The link provided in the user manual is for Windows 10, not Windows 7, and then when I clicked on the link it took me to a Google Drive login page. I do not have an account with Google Drive, and I'm not sure why I have to create a new online account just to access the drive for this GPS device. It doesn't seem right that I have to create a new online account just to access the driver for this device. The company which I bought this device from on amazon is Geekstory. The only thing that would make sense would be if Geekstory directly provided the drivers needed for the GPS modules they are selling, without requiring their customers to open up new online accounts just to access drivers for the devices. In fact, I think they should enclose a one-page document with the device containing printed direct links to the sites where the drivers can be downloaded. Until I can download the driver for my USB GPS device, it will be completely useless.

I have several of these I bought a couple years ago, I saw the terrible reviews and must chime in that these are indeed not as good as the latest Ublox M8 generation receivers, definitely buy them instead if you care about ultimate performance, but these little guys are cheap and do function.

Das Teil ist absolut unzuverlässig. Zunächst braucht es sehr lange um die SATs zu finden. Manchmal auch nicht und das auch, wenn man mit dem Laptop draußen sitzt. Im Grunde ist es unbrauchbar. Ein Stern ist auch Einer zuviel!

This is a good basic GPS unit. Works well. I wish the size was smaller so it wasn't getting bent or broken by accident when carrying laptop around.

As others have indicated this unit generally works well but struggles to acquire a fix indoors; however, it works as intended outdoors. This USB GPS dongle is being used to provide current date/time info for a RPi3B+ in a vehicle in a configuration that does not allow me to plug a real time clock into the GPIO pins. Setting up a RPi to acquire position and date/time info requires a quick search online for instructions and a few commands through the CLI. This dongle works well and as intended.
