Many customers complain about the smell, some complaining about toxic fumes. All the reviewers must be 40 years old or younger or never shopped in a thrift store. It’s a heavy moth ball smell. That’s it, it smells like moth balls

Worked great so far. Smell is pretty strong first couple of days

Smells like moth balls when you first lay it down, but that smell goes away after a day or so. Its tough to prove its working, but we've been using it off and on for years and when we don't lay it down, we tend to get garter snakes in the yard - if I put this out around the areas they tend to visit, we don't get them any longer.
