Does is come with cat5 cable?

All mine (8) came with a cat5 cable

can't i do the same thing with a wireless tablet?

We have an 8 port headphone amplifier system with stereo 3.5mm cables run to each musicians station for headphones. We also have a wireless router connected for each musician to be able to connect with their phone or tablet for control of their mix. With the P-16s the headphone port is on the unit (though you would still be running a cat5 cable) and there is less possibility of them accidentally adjusting the wrong mix. But yes, yes you can - 100%.

How does this compare to aviom or other brands? i'm looking for a monitor system for 6 band members and i want really good quality for what i buy.

We really like the P16. Has worked very well. No issues. We use it with 7 band members at our church. Quality and type of earphones will also be a factor in overall performance.
