The AC repairman wanted $100 to take out his tester. I was able to quickly point the leak out to the repairman without paying for his time to troubleshoot. **Q: How accurate it finds leaks** A: My husband really likes this detector and says it is extremely accurate. He didn't like the detector, either, until he read the directions carefully. When working in a refrigerant saturated area (like inside a cooler where a unit has been leaking), the detector will "sound off" continuously. You must keep "clearing" the unit in order to "pinpoint" the leak and keep your "sensitivity" level about half-way. Also, the "tip" of the leak detector must be "clean" and on tight. If the "tip" is loose, the unit will continuously "sound off".
