Python Pro Wood Chopping Axe - Indestructable Nylon Fiberglass Handle (440 GMS / 14” (355 MM))

At first I was sceptical, thinking that this might be some Chinese junk, but a friend told me that Python is an Indian company supplying around the world. So I called for the Python 3 G 440GMS indestructible axe. I am happy that I bought it, just the feel in your hand is so good. It is of superior quality, light, sharp and well balanced. Made light work of the unwanted branches that I needed to chop off. A simple, but clever cover helps you to carry the axe easily and prevents any accidents. I am 100% satisfied. Now, I have called for their pick axe. Proud to be Indian and to buy a quality Indian product. Thank you Python.

First delivery was older version of this axe. Holding block for this axe was completely broken. There was chipping on the axe. So sending for replacement. Second delivery was of latest version of this axe and proper plastic holder. This is much better in finish. There is no sharp edge on it which is understandable. Before first use , we had to do sharpening. Overall product looked a lot like Fisker’s axe.

It's a nice little Axe which is lightweight and good performance. Takes little effort. Cutting edge went dull? Just file it or use a sandpaper. Personally, I don't like the cover (the top part where there's a hole for hanging), takes more space.

The product is very nicely build and well put together, the fact that the smaller axe is good for having it around Your waist and carry the same. The handle is light but the head is heavy and sturdy. This is not a very heavy duty working axe it is good for having it for it's aesthetics purpose.

Great product, thank you Amazon. As a blade lover and knife maker I can tell that this is a good camp hatchet. Sturdy, compact n awesome but one thing is that the handle wouldn't be able to take the impact that the axe head can. Good for chopping, spliting and cutting down 6-8 inch diameter tree, not for tremendous or over heavy work. Great hatchet! If you're looking for a heavy work axe, get the 17 inch or the 27 inch python axe.

The product came blunt, I sharpened it in Japanese Wheatstone and made it razor sharp, it can cut paper, and holds and sharp edge even after chopping, cutting, splitting. The steel seems to be high carbon steel & the steel is slightly softer. (my guess is it should be 1075 High carbon steel or could be 7Cr17Mov Chinese steel) And its a value for money. The next hatchet that is similar to this one is, Fiskars x7

Good and Sturdy

Not a puny thing at all , carries much confidence , will be a good option to tuck one piece in a four wheeler , specially those who live in semi rural or urban places or outback ,is strong enough to remove road obstacles such as big fallen tree branches to make a temporary way for two / four wheelers . Imagine it is being sold in Canada by WALLMART alongside more famous/ expensive brands like FISKARS , GERBER etc. just googling the name PYTHON AXE shows its popularity abroad ! Unfortunately the manufacturer GARDEX INC. an Indian entity deprives us Indian patrons many fantastic varieties of axes & other outdoor items that it supplies to Western countries , why ? That's not fair GARDEX , are you listening !
