## Description

Aculon A211 10x50 binoculars are built with multi-purpose functionality and a lightweight, ergonomic design. These binoculars are perfect for those looking for extremely versatile and high quality,

Review: Extreme good picture clarity and ease of use - This pair of binoculars, although slightly on the pricier side, is extremely useful and a must have for wildlife enthusiasts, especially birders. The binoculars has excellent image clarity and even in low light, objects, birds such as owls perched high up in the canopy can be spotted without much difficulty. Very easy to use. Some cons I could think of that are that: 1) it could have been slightly smaller and lighter but I personally did not find it a constraint to use. 2) the lens covers at both ends should have some feature to remain attached to the binoculars itself. This is important because when walking through forests and jungles, the branches may scratch against the lenses. I, could easily carry the covers in my pant pockets, but it is an minor inconvenience. 3) The binocular case is of good quality but lacks a handle or a strap. Putting a strap to the case would have made carrying the binoculars easier and also solved the above problem. But that does not prevent me giving the product a 5 star rating. It performs its primary functions extremely well- Awesome picture clarity, low light vision and ease of use.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the difference between 10x50, 8x42, 10x42 & 10-22x50?**
A: The first number is the power of the lens, that is how much it will magnify the image. The second number represents the diameter of the lens in mm. They work together to calculate a number called the "exit pupil" or "exit ratio". Take the lens size and divide it by the power to get this number. The higher the number, the brighter the image. For example, 10x50 will give an exit ratio of 5.0, 8x42 would be 5.25, 10x42 would be 4.2. In my opinion, the exit ratio is more important than the power. My favorite binoculars are 8x50 (6.25) but I also just bought 10x50 as a gift who is delighted with that configuration. Stay away from high-power binoculars. They, for me, are too hard to keep steady due to the high magnification.I hope this helps.-Norm

**Q: Is it possible to view the rings of Saturn with these binoculars?**
A: The best view I've gotten with these was from the upper elevations in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, while at a remote campsite. 4 Moons of Jupiter were very clearly visible, but for the rings of Saturn, I could only get the impression of a ring with my view. The planet itself was so bright so that details were obscure. Looking at Venus with these was blinding. I cannot remember the phase of the moon on these nights but it was probably close to the new moon.

**Q: What is the items wight?**
A: According to the specs, it's 3.05 or 3.06 pounds. Assume it's 3, since .05 or .06 pounds is about an ounce.

**Q: Do these have a tripod mount and if so, what kind?**
A: I'm looking at the box (I just got it for fathers day today). It has "Tripod adaptable for a stable viewing platform by using the optional tripod adapter". You have to buy that separately. The directions even show how to do it. Amazon has the adapter shown (Nikon Adapter 7650). It's kind of spendy, but from what i've read, it's just a standard 1/4"-20 mount- just about any of those will work. not sure where some of the other answers are getting their info.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good binoculars but be aware of its limitations
*by A***T on 28 March 2015*

A fine pair of binoculars. You can see detail on the Moon that you never imagined was there, many more stars become visible that are just not visible in light polluted areas like cities. I've seen, at most, 5 moons of Jupiter. They appear as points of light next to the small circle of light that is Jupiter, how many you will see depends on how light polluted your viewing area is and just how many moons are not behind Jupiter. Stargazing is a delight even though your hands will probably shake a lot and you will struggle to keep a good view of anything as small as a star. The collimation was off on my binoculars and when I took them to the Nikon service center, they said nothing was wrong and couldn't offer a fix. Please please please take care not to touch the lenses, the front lenses are hard to touch anyway, being set so deep inside the binoculars that you'd have to bend your fingers to touch them but if you do, be prepared to spend Rs. 621, yes that much, to have them cleaned. Water should never be used to clean these as unless you're using distilled water, which I have not tried, the water itself will leave marks that you cannot clean yourself and will drastically reduce the optical quality of the binoculars. The warranty only covers malfunctioning of the mechanical focus knob and nothing else, so it's pretty much as good as useless. Cleaning is not covered under warranty. When I received this, the seller had not filled out the warranty form inside so I was nervous about even getting any warranty at all but it turns out the only part that is under warranty is one that will almost never break anyway. I may have just gotten a telescope like the Celestron FirstScope which is both cheaper and gives better quality views of deeper space objects but then I would not have been able to track objects like comets and the many artificial satellites, including the International Space Station. I could see the solar panels of the ISS with these. Overall a good purchase that I'm happy with. I'd keep these and also get a telescope for those objects that are not fast moving.
